Last week, a new interpretive walk of Istra Inspirit was held for the first time "21 meters through Istria: stories of the old railway " realized within the ICARUS project which strives to connect sustainable modes of transport and discover the Istrian peninsula by bicycle and train. The aim of the project is to create new cultural and tourist products in Istria.
An interpretive walk of 21 meters through Istria revived the history of the former railway that connected Rovinj and Kanfanar. The performance was realized in Sošići, and it started with a journey through time with the time traveler Maris, who took visitors into the past with her time machine - a bicycle.
The interpretive walk was directed by Frano Novljan, also in the role of railway guard Slavko, with performers Sedina Cerovac as Maris, Ivona Bulešić as Princess Valerija and Dejan Gotal as cyclist Bepa.
The narrative reveals the adventures of a train car that once connected Rovinj and Vienna
The experiential performance of Istra Inspirit revealed an interesting and unusual story of the old railway and introduced them to fairy-tale and versatile stories that occupy an important place in the history of this part of Istria. Various adventures from the wagon of the train connecting Rovinj and Vienna with which influential people of that time traveled were approached by the granddaughter of Emperor Josip Valerij, who arrived directly from Vienna for this performance. Along the way, he could meet the railway guard, Slavko, who knows everything about railways, trains, with the great nostalgia he has for completely different times.
At the end of the story, the audience was greeted by cyclist Bepo, who loves to explore Istria by bike and is really happiest when he is on two wheels. The performance, which gradually moved from the past to the future, intrigued the audience and taught them how time passes quickly and it is very difficult to resist.
