On Saturday, July 2, in the organization Sparkling Wine Salon Zagreb i Vukovar-Srijem County Tourist Board, wineries Papak, Cobankovic, Ilok Cellars, Tansy i three presented their sparkling and still wines alongside the already widely known Srijem delicacies of the Dunav Hotel 3. sparkling Srijem breakfast in the vineyard.

This year, too, the thick shade of the hundred-year-old walnut tree of the Papak family was a gathering place for winemakers from Srijem, lovers of divine nectar in a sparkling and calm form, along with local specialties. The morning feast began with a beautifully decorated table organized by the Dunav Hotel, with the most delicious representatives of Srijem: kulen, kulen sek, cheeses, ham, homemade sausages, baked flekki with ham and cheese, bags with walnuts and poppy seeds, salenjak and seasonal fruits. Everyone could find their favorite snack and pair it with the sparkling or still wine that suited them best.

After tasting sparkling and light still wines at the beginning of the Srijem breakfast, it followed "En primeur Srijem" where each winemaker presented one of his new wines. Winery Papak presented the new Rosé Radosh 2021, Domagoj Buhač presented Graševina Liska 2021, Hrvoje Čobanković new Silvanac zeleni 2021, Iločki Podrumi offered guests Rhine Riesling 2021, and winery Trs new cuvée 3C (carmenère, cabernet franc i Cabernet Sauvignon).

"I am extremely happy that the Sparkling Srijem breakfast in the vineyard is recognized every year by an increasing number of lovers of wine, authentic gastronomy, vineyards and, in general, the unique ambience. This is also an opportunity for winemakers to present some wine surprises in addition to sparkling wines. Sparkling Srijem breakfast in the vineyard is a unique combination of tourist and wine stories in an authentic experience of climate and people", she pointed out Rujana Busic Srpak, director of the TZ of the Vukovar-Srijem County.

After breakfast in the vineyard of the Papak winery, the Doručka guests stayed in Srijem, walked and had lunch at the popular Principovac, and dined at the Dunav Hotel, where "During the Terroir Weekend Experience" a special dinner was also held 'Pink Srijem' where the dishes are paired with Srijem pink wines from Papak, Krešić, Buhač, Iločki Porumi and Trs wineries. 

The next, autumn edition of the bubbly breakfast will be held at Erdut, September 10 as part of the renowned wine event Wine & Bike Tour Erdut
