The City Council of Amsterdam has voted the budget for 2024, in which one of the most striking changes is the increase of the tourist tax for visitors who decide to spend the night in accommodation facilities in the city area. An increase in the residence tax is also planned for passengers on cruise ships. Amsterdam bans cruise ships in order to limit the number of visitors and reduce pollution.
