Croatian b2b tourism sector: Where is our tourist cruise ship sailing? Is the grass greener outside or...?

HoReCa Adria is coming to the Velesajam in Zagreb this year. A big step forward by colleague Adrian Požarić, who gathers all tourism suppliers at the biggest exhibition space in Zagreb so far.

I won't say support him, but support yourself and its business, as well as the further development of our tourism on the way to improving quality. If you are at all a serious supplier in the tourism sector or want to be, you must be at the HoReCa Adria fair. And period.

If coming to Zagreb turns out to be a successful move, and that depends only on our sector - you / us however you want, and whether we are finally for serious business or not, whether we are Europe or not - then HoReCa Adria will stay in Zagreb, attract more and more foreign exhibitors and become one of the European fairs attended by all serious European suppliers.

...Or the same space will be taken over by some other countries...

We constantly whine, we pretend to be "something", we look at ourselves, we have Balkan way of business (which is positive on the one hand, but also has J**** negative sides), the grass is always greener outside - and we do not deal with business processes according to standards according to today's times - prove first to yourself and to everyone that Croatia is a serious tourist country. Either we move forward or we stay where we are - it all depends on us.

Is the narrative of foreign investors ABC (Anything But Croatia) still valid or can the grass be green here?

HoReCa Adria is just an example, but the same applies to all entrepreneurs, conferences, tourist stories.

It does not depend on Brussels or invisible powers. Just like the position of media, society creates media by what it clicks on and what it reads.

If you want quality media, read them and support them. Not for me, but for myself, the market and the development of society.

How can media be sustainable and quality without depending on PR articles (or politics) if the only variable is reach? And we know what is being read in Croatia. If you want quality media, subscribe - the media will only be sustainable from your subscriptions. And thus better quality.

Why are foreign products a priori better? They are not, we have very high-quality domestic companies that are globally competitive, but they have no room for breathing, growth and development. It is difficult for them to open our market, because the sector is relatively closed.

Why isn't there more quality media? Fairs? Conference? Innovation? Because the market is not looking for them. Whatever one thinks about it, these are the facts.

"After nine years of being held in Opatija, the HoReCa Adria fair is moving to Zagreb, to a much larger location, and for three days it offers hoteliers, restaurateurs and holiday home owners the opportunity to meet the best suppliers for the tourism sector in Croatia and the region!

HoReCa Adria thus becomes a place where you will find everything you need to improve the quality of your tourist facility, furnishing or renovating a hotel room, restaurant or kitchen, decorating the interior of an apartment or holiday home - from small inventory, decor and all the little things that are a detail to guests. more, through technological solutions to catering equipment and furniture. Part of the exhibition program is dedicated to products for exteriors", allegations Adriano Požarić from HoReCa Adria.

Why can it work outside, but not here? This is a question that many people ask themselves, including me personally. The market is as it is - a we are the market ourselves.

If HoReCa Adria, like all other conferences, media, projects, are well filled and accepted - it is also a signal to the market and the entire tourism ecosystem to become even more active and grow in quality. Win-win for everyone.

We need many more companies such as Rentlio, InSky Solutions, Include, Carwiza, Muzeja Iluzija, Bernarda madraci, Sirane Gligora... It is logical and natural that our tourism (which is huge, from consumption, number of arrivals/nights, number of accommodation and globally recognized) creates added value precisely through companies that link services and products to tourism.

Tourism can and must stimulate economic growth and exports, not imports.

Companies that should first find clients in Croatia, and later, on the basis of product testing and development and "CV" to domestic clients, move to the global market. For that we need tourism that is open to "business", innovations, meetings, conferences, fairs, socializing, exchange of ideas... After all, this is precisely the added value of tourism, to grow domestic companies that sell products / services to the tourism sector.

To have their own production in Croatia, to create innovations, to employ quality personnel who have been leaving for better economies for years. However, we live from tourism and have over 100 million overnight stays. It's crazy that in Croatia we don't have a strong accompanying industry that follows tourism, which is successful and bulky according to all the numbers.

We have the potential for... this sequel would last for one good book, but more importantly, they focus on the past, rather than the future. On solutions and how to turn potential into resources. For that, we need business processes and a different mindset.

HoReCa Adria is the "place to be" if you have a serious supplier for the tourism sector.

See you. Well done Adriano on the step forward!

Where does our tourist cruise ship sail?

Everything depends on us. We are the market.

The same applies to tourism, media... as well as political elections. How much and how we vote - that's what we have. The responsibility is on us.

The grass is not greener outside. There is just a different "mindset" and focus on business processes.

Or is the grass greener outside? It all depends on you, you are the market and you give direction.
