The Minister of Tourism and Sports, Tonči Glavina, will be in Germany today and Saturday, where he will attend the promotional event of the Croatian Tourist Board in Neuruppin, the base of the Croatian national football team, which is being held in anticipation of the EURO and the match of the 1st round of the European Football Championship between Croatia and Spain in Berlin.
"On the eve of the start of the European Championship in the city that is the base of our national team, we will have a presentation of our rich tourist offer, including eno-gastro, historical and cultural offer. We will use this European Championship to draw additional attention to Croatia as a tourist destination, as well as a sports nation, and thereby motivate new arrivals to Croatia, not only German tourists, but also all those who will come to this European Championship and who, due to the proximity of our countries can choose Croatia as an additional destination to visit", said Minister Glavina and referred to the expectations for the Euro and how much such competitions and performances of Croatian athletes contribute to the promotion of our country.
As part of the promotional event, the Croatian Tourist Board will open a photo exhibition "Experience Croatia" in the city gallery in Neuruppin, and Croatian coastal tourist regions and the diversity of Croatian eno-gastronomy will be presented on the city's main square, while Croatian sculptures will be placed at frequent locations in the city. greats - inventor Nikola Tesla, researcher Marco Polo, basketball player Dražen Petrović, sculptor Ivan Meštrović, mathematician Ruđer Bošković and engineer Slavoljub Penkala.
"We can see how much the successes of our football players contribute to the promotion of Croatia according to the indicators from past major competitions, when during the world championships in Russia and Kat, the word Croatia was among the most searched terms on the Google search engine, and the increase in visits to the website of the Croatian Tourist Board was 200% higher which then reflected on tourist demand and reservations. Since this EURO is being held in Germany, we expect that our national team will play as if it were at home and that, apart from the stadium, all the cities where our Vatreni play will be full of Croatian fans. We wish our national team a lot of success and that they stay in the tournament as long as possible, and we will continue to support them, currently through cheering, but also concretely further through all the activities that the Government supports and will continue to support Croatian sports". Glavina added.
