Yesterday in Šibenik, a coordination meeting of the Croatian Tourist Board (HTZ) with tourist boards from the Šibenik-Knin County was held.

The meeting was attended by Kristijan Staničić, director of HTZ, and Krešimir Šakić, director of TZ Šibenik-Knin County, as well as representatives of 18 tourist boards of towns and municipalities from the county.

Growth of tourist traffic

At the beginning of the meeting, the Director of HTZ emphasized that Croatian tourism has achieved positive trends in the form of growth in tourist traffic in the current part of the year.

"From the beginning of the year until yesterday, Croatia had a total of over 9,2 million arrivals and almost 42 million overnight stays, which is 12 percent more arrivals and 6 percent more overnight stays than last year, while in the current part of July there were around 2,5 million arrivals and 14,5 million overnight stays, which is at the level of July last year", he said Kristijan Staničić.

He added that over 910 tourists are currently staying in the country, while over 60 are currently staying in Šibenik-Knin County.

The prime weeks are coming

After a special presentation of the Strategic Marketing and Operational Plan of Croatian Tourism, in which competitive and authentic tourist experiences of Croatia are identified and which aims to reposition Croatia in the direction of a premium destination, the coordination meeting also discussed the planned promotional activities on broadcast markets until the end of the year and the expected results in the rest of the year.

"In the county so far this year, we have recorded over 420 arrivals and 2,3 million overnight stays, which compared to last year represents a growth in arrivals of 5 percent, while the number of overnight stays is at the same level as last year. Peak weeks are ahead of us, the peak season has just begun and there are intense days ahead of us, during which we must maintain the quality of service and the satisfaction of our guests, because this is the only way we can build the image of the county as a quality and sustainable tourist region in the long term.", he concluded Krešimir Šakić
