The County of Istria has announced a public call for grants for the development of less developed areas of Istria in 2021, with the aim of encouraging sustainable and balanced development of Istria, and the development of year-round tourism.

The program implements two measures. Through raising the quality of tourist events and the development of tourist products and projects of special interest.

The first measure aims to encourage raising the quality and improvement of tourist events of regional or national importance, as well as events that are primarily held at at least 3 or more locations, or places, municipalities, cities of Istria, which are held outside the main tourist season and promote indigenous products. , local performers, tradition, customs and values.

A total of HRK 150.000 is planned for the mentioned measure, while the maximum amount of individual support is HRK 50.000. Eligible applicants are local tourist boards, local self-government units, public institutions, crafts and companies.

The second measure grants for the development of public tourism infrastructure and selective forms of tourism, such as outdoor and active tourism, ie cycling, cultural and eno-gastronomic tourism, and for projects that valorize indigenous values, Istrian tradition, culture and customs.

A total of HRK 170.000 is planned for this measure, the maximum amount of individual support is HRK 50.000, and the costs of arranging, equipping and marking bicycle, hiking, mountaineering, educational and other themed trails (brown signalization is not included), picnic areas, climbing areas, lookouts are co-financed. caves, and other interesting places (point of interest), museums, theme houses, introduction of bike-share services, bike services, bike parks, and setting up bike counters in less developed tourist areas.
