Minister Glavina in Varaždin: We continue to strengthen the year-round offer on the continent
We held regional coordination with representatives of local units and tourist boards of Varaždin County, who play an important role in the implementation of the reform of the management of tourism development according to the principles of sustainability, Minister Glavina said and emphasized:
"The interest of the reform on the continent is the continuation of the strengthening of the year-round supply, which is why the Government has provided 75% of the allocation from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan for investments on the continent. We continue in this direction in synergy with all stakeholders", said Minister Glavina and underlined the importance of these meetings and continuous communication and cooperation for the successful implementation of all strategic goals.
When we talk about tourism results, continental counties record continuous growth and have so far achieved 5% more arrivals and 4% more overnight stays than in the same period last year, while Varaždin County records even better results and so far has 7% more arrivals and 5% more overnight stays than in 2023.
Constantly raising the quality of the offer and holding numerous events certainly contribute to this, one of the most important of which is the Špancirfest, a festival of street walkers, which will last in Varaždin until September 1.
"Such events, which attract a large number of tourists, and especially in this period, are added value and an opportunity for stronger profiling of Croatia as a year-round tourism destination, which offers a rich and varied offer in its continental part as well.", concluded Glavina, adding that since 2016, the Government of Varaždin County has allocated more than 40 million euros for projects in the field of tourism and sports.
