Foreign cruise ships in the Croatian Adriatic achieved a 13,9% increase in trips and carried 20,8% more passengers in 2024 compared to 2023. In addition, in 2024, foreign cruise ships stayed in Croatia longer than in 2023, by 14,7%.
86 foreign cruise ships have entered Croatian seaports
In 2024, Croatian seaports were 86 foreign cruise ships and made 736 cruises. There were one million passengers on these ships, who stayed in the Republic of Croatia for 1 days. Foreign cruise ships in 690 sailed under the flags of 2024 countries, among which the most voyages were usually under the flag of Malta, namely 15 voyages, which is 227% of the total voyages made in 30,8. The following are cruises made by foreign ships under the flag of the Bahamas (194 trips), Panama (76 trips) and Norway (58 trips).
Most cruises in July, September and October 2024.
Out of a total of 736 round trips by foreign ships most of them were achieved in September (119 trips), October (115 trips) and July (113 trips), which is a total of 47,1% of trips. The remaining 52,9% of trips were made in the other months of 2024. In all three of the above months of 2024, there was an increase in trips and
increase in the number of passengers compared to the same months in 2023.
Of the total of 736 cruises by foreign ships, most of them were realized in Dubrovnik-Neretva (46,6%) and Split-Dalmatia County (24,2%), which is a total of 70,8% of trips. The remaining 29,2% of trips were made in the following counties: Zadar (13,7%), Istria and Primorska (5,7% each) and Šibenik-Knin (4,1%).
The port of Dubrovnik is still the most visited port
The port of Dubrovnik had the most visits from foreign cruise ships (513 visits), followed by the ports of Split (331 visits), Zadar (219 visits), Hvar (118 visits), Korčula (105 visits), Šibenik (84 visits) and Rovinj (75 visits).
