Plitvice Lakes National Park published a brochure on sustainable practices. It is a brochure of sustainable practices in the area of the Pltivička Jezera National Park and its wider community for the local community and tourism workers.

The brochure on sustainable practices seeks to encourage sustainability in our area, and is intended for local residents and all tourism workers who in any way carry out tourism activities in their community, states the Plitvice Lakes National Park, adding that sustainable practices are important in raising the value of the protected area and its wider surroundings with the aim of a sustainable lifestyle for the local population and for strengthening tourism.

"As a Public Institution and holder of the Green Destinations Silver Award for Sustainability, we strive to encourage the local community and the wider environment to implement responsible practices, which is the main motive for creating this short brochure. Thus, in these few pages you will find environmental topics such as packaging and waste, food waste, drinking water and wastewater, renewable energy sources, light pollution and noise. Social topics are touched upon through a review of local suppliers and products and respect for human rights, and we have also highlighted the procedures for certifying sustainable practices with the possibility of acquiring various certificates.

In addition to encouraging messages on the above topics, some of which we hope you will recognize and apply, we also bring you a few facts related to global, European or national circumstances and situations. Perhaps the information provided will encourage you to further explore the possibilities of contributing to sustainability in a much broader format than is covered in this brochure. they pointed out from the NP Plitvička jezera.

As a reminder, six Croatian destinations were included in the prestigious Green Destinations Top 100 Stories list for 2024, confirming their commitment to sustainable tourism. This year's laureates include Cres, Dugi otok, Ivanić-Grad, Lika Destination Cluster, Mali Lošinj and Plitvice Lakes National Park.
