Soon, instead of the previous five counties, ie five tourist brands and products, Slavonia will finally operate on the market as one tourist brand - Slavonia.
Namely, an Agreement on cooperation in the creation and promotion of the tourist brand "Slavonia" was signed in Osijek today.
It is an agreement that includes activities for the development of strategic marketing documents intended for the joint promotion of the Slavonia Tourist Cluster in the period from 2019 to 2025 and which aims to increase the visibility of Slavonia as a year-round tourist destination.
The agreement was signed by Minister Gari Cappelli on behalf of the Ministry of Tourism, Director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić and representatives of the Brod-Posavina, Osijek-Baranja, Požega-Slavonia, Virovitica-Podravina and Vukovar-Srijem counties. "The balanced tourist development of Croatia, and thus the continent as an integral part of the overall tourist offer of Croatia, is one of the main goals of this Government. This agreement is the first step towards the realization of the potential that Slavonia as a tourist destination has and the recognition it more than deserves. I would like to emphasize that in the last three years we, as the Ministry of Tourism and the Croatian Tourist Board, have already invested 37 and a half million kuna in tourism development through various grants to strengthen competitiveness, develop tourist infrastructure and develop cyclo-tourism on the continent. Apart from this project, in the future we will continue to provide support to Slavonia through our programs that are intended to strengthen the competitiveness of the tourist offer and thus further encourage the development of Slavonia as a year-round destination." Minister Cappelli pointed out on the occasion of signing the Agreement on Cooperation in the Creation and Promotion of the Tourist Brand "Slavonia".
"The development of the Strategic Marketing Plan of Slavonia Tourism with the branding plan will enable faster and better activation of untapped tourism potentials of the Slavonia Cluster and effective marketing and communication activities in this area, so we have provided HRK 612.500,00 for the project this year and next. Our main task is to tell the world the story of Slavonia, but also of other continental parts of Croatia that should be responsible for the development of year-round tourism. pointed out the director of the CNTB, Kristjan Staničić, adding that this year the CNTB supported 93 tourist projects in the area of Slavonia with an amount exceeding 3,7 million kuna.
During his stay in Osijek, Minister Cappelli also met with Osijek-Baranja County Prefect Ivan Anušić, with whom he discussed tourism projects in Osijek-Baranja County and the possibilities for further development of tourism in the Slavonia cluster.
Mayor Ivan Anušić emphasized the potential for the development of Slavonia in terms of tourism."This is the first time that the Minister of Tourism is coming to Osijek and the tourism of Slavonia is being seriously discussed. It is a confirmation that the time has come for the system to start dealing with the framework of tourism development in this area. That is why we need a thoughtful direction and strategy. We are ready to learn and we are aware that nothing will improve overnight, but we must start planning tourism together. It is indisputable that Slavonia has a lot to offer, natural beauty, health tourism, rich gastronomic culture, wine producers, and most importantly - we want our producers to produce eco products and healthy food for tourist services." He said Anusic.
Slavonia tourism marketing plan strategy
Last week, at the 37th session of the Tourist Board of the CNTB, the members of the Council made a decision on cooperation and co-financing of the relevant documents "Strategy of the marketing plan of Slavonia tourism with the branding plan" of the Slavonia cluster (Vukovar-Srijem, Osijek-Baranja, Virovitica-Podravina -Slavo and Brod-Posavina counties) and the subject document "Tourism Development Strategy of the Imotski Region Tourist Board of Imotski.
The story of Slavonia began to unfold as it had always been. Development strategy, one band, the arrival of travel agencies to finally start selling Slavonia in various markets, because the continent does not have a secure "base" of tourists as a sea destination, and lacks tourists as well as tourist spending, UHPA Days in Slavonia 2019… all It is part of the Initiative to hold the Days of Croatian Tourism in Slavonia, which will, however, still be held unofficially in 2019.
