The Association of Croatian Travel Agencies (UHPA) and the Tourist Board of the County of Istria concluded a Business Cooperation Agreement based on which UHPA will promote Istria as a recommended domestic destination in 2024. 

On this occasion, on Tuesday, March 19, on the eve of the official opening of the UHPA Day, the largest annual meeting of the association, a press conference was held in the Hotel Residence Garden Istra Plava Laguna in Umag, with numerous guests.

He presented the new partnership to those present Denis Ivosevic, director of the Tourist Board of the Istrian County, emphasizing his great satisfaction with the new contract:

"Cooperation with eminent names in the tourism industry is an important determinant in the work of our Tourist Board and a necessary link at every step in the promotion of the destination. The Association of Croatian Travel Agencies has been an extremely important collaborator and support for us for many years, and we are additional  with the partnership this year, they simultaneously opened the way to new opportunities for the joint presentation of Istrian specialties. I believe that with this cooperation we will make a successful step forward and set some new trends through the cooperation of two tourism brands."

Project "UHPA's home destination"for many years he has been recommending domestic and foreign destinations with the aim of further strengthening the cooperation of tourist agencies and tourist boards, developing new specific tourist programs, focused promotion of the destination itself and increasing tourist consumption.

 "We are extremely honored and pleased to be able to promote Istria as a recommended domestic destination. Istria has long since consolidated its position on the tourist map of Europe, which is confirmed by the tourist figures that I can proudly boast about. Last year, Istria recorded the highest absolute number of overnight stays in the national framework, and we believe that it will continue in this direction. I am convinced that this cooperation will further motivate existing tourist agencies, as well as other stakeholders, to create a quality tourist offer that will definitely further contribute to creating the image of Istria as a high-value, sustainable and innovative year-round destination", he said Tomislav Fain, President of UHPA.

The County of Istria with its sights, natural beauties and diverse tourist offer will be marked as UHPA's recommended domestic destination in all informational and promotional materials of the association, electronic communication, public appearances and events, sessions, meetings, seminars and educations, professional lectures and social events and at UHPA Days, the uhpa.hr portal, social networks and the association's publications. 

So far, through the aforementioned project, successful cooperation has been achieved with the tourist communities of Split-Dalmatia County, the city of Zagreb, Sisak-Moslavina, Sibenik-Knin, Zadar and Zagreb Counties, as well as the tourist communities of the cities of Crikvenica, Hvar and Split.
