The Tourist Board of Nin, the University of Zadar and the global foundation MBRC the ocean (which operates in Croatia through the association Eko Kvarner) are organizing on Friday, February 9, 2024, starting at 10 a.m., the cleaning of the Queen's Beach in Nin.
Employees of the Nin utility company are involved in the mentioned action. Saltworks Nin and volunteers of the newly founded ecological association Nin Eden.
This is only the third action of the MBRC the ocean foundation in the Adriatic, after many carried out all over the planet, especially in the countries of the so-called third world, where ocean pollution is growing dramatically, especially with plastic.
The point of activity of the foundation, which is based in Hamburg, is, apart from the actual removal of waste from the coast and its recycling, production of useful or decorative items from collected waste, the sale of which finances the following actions.
In addition, the largest part of all the foundation's resources is invested in the continuous education of pupils and students, as well as their teachers and professors, because only by strengthening the education of future generations can we prevent the mistakes of our generation and the generations of our ancestors from being repeated.
Our wish is for this action to become traditional, i.e. to be held several times every year in a series of selected locations, and to be accompanied by permanent education in schools and universities throughout Croatia, especially in the winter months, say TZ Nin.
