The American cities of Austin and Scottsdale have become even more attractive for tourists with the opening of two new Museums of Illusions.

In total, it is the 9th Museum of Illusions (MI) on the American market and the 42nd in the world. And there are even 9 more MI in the announcement only in the US market.

The Museum of Illusions is the largest chain of private museums in the world - MADE IN CROATIA. 

Many do not know that the story surrounding the Museum of Illusions is much broader than the franchise itself. Namely, the company has an additional story through the development and production of didactic toys for all museums.

The Museum of Illusions enables its visitors in 25 countries to learn about the ways in which the human brain and perception work through interactive exhibits and entertainment. 

The center of creativity and innovation, production and the whole story in the export concept of the Museum of Illusions is Oroslavje.

SUCCESS METRICS OF OUR TOURISM

This is called the Croatian tourism export product and the added value of our tourism. The whole story began in Zagreb and Zadar, and now the Museum of Illusions is spreading around the world.

How much has our tourism generated such stories? That has to be one of the metrics of success. How open is our tourism to domestic innovators and "lunatics"? How targeted are we in providing support to exactly this kind of entrepreneurs? are we open for domestic companies? Have we opened some doors for them in the global market? Have we connected them with embassies, HTZ representative offices and other economic communities outside Croatia? These are the people who know their markets and business culture best. Do we encourage such entrepreneurs to go to global fairs? Do we have a system that tracks them and pushes them forward? Do we even know they exist? 

Tourism is, or at least logically should be, a HUB for innovation that creates added value through the export of services and products. Do we have an incubator / technology park (the form is not important) somewhere on the coast that is specialized only for such entrepreneurs who have the potential to be the new Infobip in tourism tomorrow. With extremely strong seasonality, guests from all over Europe and beyond, over 20 million arrivals and 100+ overnight stays, global brand, EU zone... - we are certainly more than fertile ground for the development of such companies.

Rather, it is more than logical and natural that our tourism creates such companies, which test products and services in our tourism, get "know-who" and data, develop it and, thanks to our tourism and brand, place it on the global market. Tourism as an export product.

Foreign is not always better. In fact, our companies are very competitive, even ahead of their time. But they must have fertile ground (aka our tourism) to market and develop their ideas in Croatia.

Just as Israel is a start-up country, we must be a start-up country of franchises and related tourism products and services for the global tourism industry that are present all over the world. Such as Surf'n'Fries, Fast Review® , CARWIZ International, COURT , Include and many others.

All of them are our Croatian tourist export products - Made in Croatia. Globally competitive. Leaders who open doors for other colleagues. The team that brands Croatia. The land of knowledge and innovation.

This must be one of the metrics of the success of our tourism. How targeted is the creation and promotion of such an eco system is a question for ministers, directors of TZ and mayors.

If we look at our tourism right now, instead of stimulating the local economy, we are stimulating imports through tourism. Which is insane and against the very essence of tourism. We have not even connected the primary and basic chains, such as agriculture and tourism. Let me remind you, we have over 100 million overnight stays - so the exact demand and consumption. We just have to produce enough food and link it with tourism. 

Our tourism must be a platform for all our entrepreneurs to grow, develop and test their concepts and eventually a HUB for exporting to global markets. Just guided by the positive wind and foundations that tourism gives us. 

Politics is one thing, and business processes are quite another. We need strategic development, synergy, an eco system that encourages growth and development and ultimately a vision of development. If we want to be globally competitive and have a healthy economy. 

Export of knowledge

Export of our knowledge and experience thanks to our tourism. 

Do we have the knowledge, experience and people who can be a global reference? We have. But we have to create them, push them and open doors for us because they are ambassadors of our entire tourist ecosystem. People who tomorrow will open the doors to franchises, bring a global congress to Croatia, organize meetings...

These are business processes that we have to deal with. Just remember the phenomenal concept and campaign of Britain is Great.
