Valamar Riviera, a leading company in tourism, is the first domestic tourist company to receive the EU Ecolabel for tourist accommodation for as many as six of its camps: Istra Premium Camping Resort 5 * in Funtana, Ježevac Premium Camping Resort 4 * and Krk Premium Camping Resort 5 * on Krk, Lanterna Premium Camping Resort 4 * and Solaris Camping Resort 3 * in Tara and Orsera Camping Resort 3 * in Vrsar. 

EU Ecolabel is a label that promotes environmental excellence, ie helps to identify products and services that have a reduced impact on the environment, from the initial stage of use of raw materials, through production to their use and final disposal. 

This label focuses entirely on environmental sustainability. The criteria for obtaining it have been agreed by scientists, NGOs and stakeholders, and EU Ecolabel products and services are judged by independent experts to ensure that high standards of reduced environmental impact are achieved. 

In order to be awarded the EU Ecolabel, tourist accommodation must comply with each of the 22 mandatory criteria in the areas of general management, energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources, rational water consumption, waste and waste reduction and management, and other mandatory criteria. be in accordance with the appropriate number of the remaining 45 criteria in order to gain a sufficient number of points. The aim of the benchmark is to promote the use of renewable energy sources in order to save energy and water, reduce waste and improve the local environment.

On the one hand, the prestigious EU Ecolabel confirms that our products and services meet the most demanding environmental standards, and on the other hand motivates our guests and partners to choose among the products and services on the market those that are greener and more environmentally responsible., pointed out Željko Kukurin, President of the Management Board of Valamar Riviera.

Zeleni Valamar, one of the company's nine umbrella programs for corporate social responsibility, includes energy efficiency projects and various initiatives aimed at protecting the environment, both in regular business and in educating guests, employees and the wider community on the importance of preserving the Adriatic Sea and its coast.

In Croatia, the award procedure EU Ecolabel labels are implemented by the Ministry of Environmental and Nature Protection, and more information on "environmentally conscious" tourist services, ie accommodation can be found in EU Ecolabel catalog of tourist accommodation.
