Valamar confirmed the payment of a dividend of EUR 0,22 per share

100% of electricity in Valamar comes from renewable sources.

At the held General Assembly of Valamara, a decision was adopted on the payment of dividends to shareholders in the amount of EUR 0,22 per share, which is 10% more than in the previous year.

The dividend will be paid on May 24, 2024. At the same time, the authorization of the Management Board of Valamar to acquire its own shares was extended for the next five years.    

For the ninth year in a row, Valamar published an integrated annual report and achievements in sustainable business. In 2023  Valamar invested 13,5 million euros in destinations and social impact, that is, in projects that directly contribute to the development of destinations and the quality of life of the local communities in which it operates. In 2023, Valamar celebrated its 70th year of business.

In 2023 100% of electricity in Valamar comes from renewable sources.

Valamar continued with decarbonization and reduced carbon emissions per occupied accommodation unit by 72 percent compared to the base year 2015. As they state from Valamar, even 78% of food and drinks come from local producers. Valamar concluded partnership with the World Organization for Nature Protection (WWF) in the segment of procurement of sustainable products from fisheries and the protection of the Adriatic Sea and preservation of biodiversity, which represents the first such cooperation in the hotel sector in Croatia.

It's composted 347 tons of biowaste and together with the guests was planted over 9.000 new trees within the donation campaign "Easy as one, two, three". 

 In 2023, more than 8.000 employees, among which there are even 83% domiciled. Last year, Valamar introduced a new program "A roof over your head" in which permanent employees, fixed-term employees and permanent seasonal employees in the V+3 program are offered an apartment rental supplement in the destination where they are employed.

Starting this year, employees who live in destinations and those who move permanently will receive 400 euros net under the measure "Live the destination" with which Valamar encourages year-round work and local employment and offers a number of benefits for employees in the destinations where it operates.

Valamar joined in 2023 Science Based Targets initiative and became a member UN Global Compact. Business media platform Bloomberg Adria rated Valamar with the highest ratings for sustainability in Croatia, while it is a global agency EcoVadis awarded the company a silver medal for evaluating business sustainability. In 2023, Valamar was the recipient of a number of awards and recognitions, including recognition National awards for the environment 2023 – GREEN PRIX in the "Impact on the community" category  te Awards for building public trust awarded by PwC Croatia and the Zagreb Stock Exchange.
