Zagreb County records record results in tourism in 2024. With a significant increase in arrivals and overnight stays, the region further strengthens its position as a desirable and sustainable destination in key international markets through promotion and positioning.
According to data from the eVisitor system, Zagreb County recorded 14% more arrivals and 14% more overnight stays compared to the same period last year. The comparison with the record year 2019 further emphasizes the exceptional results - the number of arrivals increased by 21%, while the number of overnight stays increased by 33%.
In parallel with the growth of tourist demand, the accommodation capacity in the county recorded a significant step forward. The number of basic beds increased by more than 30%, from 3.326 in 2019 to today's 4.761, while the number of accommodation facilities doubled - from 300 to 603.
Destinations that win the hearts of visitors
Zagreb County offers a variety of destinations that attract visitors with their natural beauty, cultural heritage and authentic enogastronomic experiences.
Velika Gorica stood out as the most visited destination, attracting more than 36% of all guests. The proximity to Zagreb, a unique combination of natural sights and traditional events, makes it an unmissable point for tourists.
Jastrebarsko, located in the heart of the wine-growing region of Plešivica, attracted 20% of visitors. This destination is known for its excellent wines, hospitable wineries and idyllic landscape. Holy Sunday records 18% of arrivals thanks to the innovative combination of modern facilities and natural beauty. Its charming parks and local attractions make it an ideal place for family trips and active vacations.
Samobor, a symbol of traditional charm, attracted 11% of guests. Its wonderful streets, famous kremšnita and rich history make it an unmissable destination for lovers of the authentic Croatian spirit.
Ivanić-Grad, with a share of 5%, is becoming increasingly popular thanks to its development of wellness tourism, including Naftalan - a unique spa center with natural sources of medicinal oil.

This recognition represents the culmination of many years of effort and dedication in creating a unique tourist identity that recognizes and nurtures authenticity, quality and sustainability.
