A coordination meeting with regional tourism associations was held in Kutjevo

The representatives of the tourist boards of the counties emphasized that the booking situation is very good, as well as the announcements of the partners

Today it is in Kutjeva a coordination meeting was held Croatian National Tourist Board with regional tourist boards, that is, county tourist boards. They attended the meeting Nikolina Brnjac, Minister of Tourism and Sports, Kristjan Staničić, director of HTZ and 16 directors of regional tourist boards, while they opened the meeting with introductory and welcoming speeches Antonija Jozic, prefect of Požega-Slavonia County and Josip Budimir, the mayor of Kutjev.

During the first part of the meeting, the minister Grinjak she introduced National Recovery and Resilience Plan, that is, an overview of its implementation so far through two public calls for grants for investments in public and private tourism infrastructure. As she said, a total of 468 applications were received, and temporary lists of winners and contracts are expected in June this year.

"The development of tourism on the continent is of particular importance to us for the development of year-round and more regionally balanced tourism, therefore we are very pleased that we have maintained coordination with regional tourism associations in Požega-Slavonia County. At the meeting, we discussed all the important strategic activities undertaken by the Government of the Republic of Croatia with the goal of developing sustainable tourism, for which a record amount of funds worth 1,27 billion euros was secured for the first time. Our goal is to make Croatian tourism more resilient and competitive through a comprehensive reform of tourism management., said the minister Grinjak.

As part of his presentation, the director Stanicic presented, among other things, public tenders and invitations Croatian National Tourist Board for tourism undeveloped areas and the continent, united tourist boards, strategic projects and for the organization of TOP events.

"We introduced the directors of regional tourist boards to a series of activities that we are currently carrying out, such as presenting the entire Croatian tourist offer at the largest tourist fairs and marketing and PR activities. I am glad that the continental part of Croatia is creating more and more interesting tourist projects, quality tourist infrastructure and tourist attractions that are the motive of guests coming to the destination. The continental, and especially the rural, part of Croatia is gaining its touristic affirmation, and every year we devote more and more promotional activities to the continental part of our country, because today, more than ever before, guests are looking for preserved nature, healthy food, peace and sustainable tourism for which this region has full potential", said the director Stanicic.

As part of the meeting, Director Staničić also presented the implementation process so far Competition for the selection of the umbrella communication concept - Big Idea and the new visual identity of Croatia as a tourist destination, and whose first phase of implementation has been successfully completed. As he said Stanicic, during the first pre-selection phase, as many as 27 bidder applications were received, 14 of which were international, and bids with conceptual solutions as part of the second phase of the competition will be received by the end of May 2023. 

During the meeting, it was also discussed the implementation of marketing campaigns and PR activities of HTZ in the first half of 2023, fair appearances on the most important broadcasting markets, and numerous study trips of journalists, bloggers and influencers, which are realized precisely in cooperation with the system of tourist boards.

The representatives of the tourist boards of the counties emphasized that the booking situation is very good, as well as the announcements of the partners, so a very successful tourist year is expected. This is confirmed by data from the eVisitor system, according to which 755 arrivals and 2,1 million overnight stays have been achieved in Croatia so far this year, which represents a growth of 2019 percent in arrivals and 2 percent in overnight stays compared to the same period in 12. At the same time, guests from the markets of Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, Austria and Italy spent the most overnight stays, and in terms of destinations, the most overnight stays were in Zagreb, Split, Rovinj, Dubrovnik and Opatija.
