A coordination meeting was held today in Rabac Croatian National Tourist Board with representatives of tourist boards from the area Istria County. He had the opening speech Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian Tourist Board, and attended the meeting Denis Ivosevic, director of the Tourist Board of Istria and representatives of 28 tourist boards of towns and municipalities from the county.
Before the presentation of the new Strategic Marketing and Operational Plan of Croatian Tourism for the period up to 2027, the summary of which was presented today to the tourist boards of Istria, the meeting discussed trends in the realization of tourist traffic, public invitations and tenders that will be announced for financing the projects of tourist boards , and they also discussed potential collaborations with key strategic partners on foreign markets and the issue of illegal renting.
"With the presentation of the new Strategic Marketing and Operational Plan in Istria, we have completed this first cycle of presenting the document to colleagues from the Adriatic counties. We will organize additional presentations and workshops in the field, as it is a very comprehensive and substantive document. In its implementation, the tourism system will also play an important role community, so quality information of colleagues, i.e. their understanding of the guidelines of the document, is necessary so that in the end they all achieve the planned goals together", said the director Stanicic.
"For us, the strategic marketing and operational plan of Croatian tourism is a very important document that defines the promotional strategy at the national level. After studying the national plan in more detail, we will begin the process of creating such a document for Istria. The idea is that these plans should be coordinated, that all together we are working on strengthening the Croatian tourism brand, and we will additionally, in accordance with our legal tasks, direct special attention and activities to the promotion of Istrian tourism. Our goal is to maintain and further strengthen the position of Istria, both on the most important foreign markets and on the domestic market.", he said Ivošević.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that in Croatia so far this year, 10,5 million arrivals and 50,3 million overnight stays have been achieved, which is 10 percent more arrivals and 5 percent more overnight stays than last year, while around 3,7 million have been achieved so far in July. arrivals and 23 million overnight stays, which is at the level of July last year.
Positive trends are also recorded in Istria, the only Croatian region that even last year exceeded the record result from 2019. Thus, in the current part of the year, 2,7 million arrivals and 14,6 million overnight stays were realized in Istria, which is 5 percent more arrivals and 4 percent more more overnight stays than last year, while in the current part of July, over 913 thousand arrivals and 6,1 million overnight stays were realized in Istria, which is also at the level of last July.
