Yesterday it was part of the project We live Destination Vinkovci a panel discussion was held in the Elza Kučer hall of the Vinkovci City Library and Reading Room.
This is the first panel organized by the Vinkovci Tourist Board, which proved that renters are very interested in both education and synergy with all stakeholders in the destination.
In the first part, there was talk about the development of continental tourism, with an emphasis on the Vukovar-Srijem County, i.e. the city of Vinkovce, about the project itself, stakeholders and plans for further development. These questions were answered by the representative of the Croatian Tourist Board, Jure Galić, head of the Department for Support and Coordination of Tourist Boards, Majda Jakša, director of the Vukovar-Srijem County Tourist Board and Martina Matković, director of the Town of Vinkovci Tourist Board.
In the second part, in a conversation with the moderator Goran Rihel, Ivica Šandrk, one of the first small landlords in Vinkovci, then Jelena Babić, representative of OPG Abelo and Zlatko Celik, a long-time tourist guide, answered questions about the expectations of guests, experiences with tourists from the position of each of them as well as their view of the development of tourism in Vinkovci as well as cooperation with the Tourist Board of the town of Vinkovci.
"We wanted to gather our renters, of whom there are more and more, in order to educate them as well as possible, that is, to make their accommodation of better quality and to present our destination as well as possible", said the director of the Vinkovci Tourist Board, Martina Matković.
This year, 82 new renters were registered in Vukovar-Srijem County, of which 35 are from Vinkovci. There are currently around a hundred private renters in Vinkovci, and the greatest growth was recorded after the pandemic.
The conclusion of the panel is that the project continues to live through a series of activities such as further education, networking and exchange of experiences that we will arrange in the coming period, about which you will be informed in due time.
