Domestic and foreign guests are increasingly exploring the lesser-known parts of continental Croatia. They are looking for an autochthonous offer, natural beauty and sustainable tourism, and this is exactly what the Lonjsko Polje Nature Park offers.

The Lonjsko Polje Nature Park Public Institution reports that they are more than satisfied with this tourist year, where there is a constant interest of tour organizers in this destination, and they note that it is not all about mass, but the focus is on educating each visitor.

The number of visitor arrivals is increasing every year, and on the basis of last year they record 59% increase, point out from the Lonjsko Polje Nature Park.

"Even though the tourist season is at the very end, visitors still visit the Lonjsko Polje Nature Park, although less than in the height of the tourist season, but we record daily arrivals. "  points out the director of the Lonjsko Polje Nature Park Domagoj Šejatović.

The public institution Lonjsko Polje Nature Park with numerous partners and business entities is continuously working on improvement and development of the Park area. Recently, in cooperation with the Local Action Groups Moslavina, Zeleni trokut and  Turopolje's Zrinski mountain and the Development Agencies NORA, MRAV, SIMORA, the Administrative Department for Agriculture of Sisak-Moslavina County and RDP Technology organized a consultation for farmers and tourism service providers from the area of the Lonjsko Polje Nature Park. With this, they hope to increase and improve investments in the economy, and thus improve tourist services in the Park area.

"This is a good example of how the Public Institution Lonjsko Polje Nature Park, Local Action Groups, Development Agencies operating in the Park area and Sisak-Moslavina County joined together to achieve a common goal, which is to provide free consultations to farmers in order to modernize mechanization, increase competitiveness and ultimately improved agricultural holdings and investments in rural tourism in the area of the Lonjsko Polje Nature Park." says director Šejatović and adds that the successfully held events RangerRUN and Day of Architectural Heritage in Krapje are a reflection of the joint action of the Institution and the locals, what visitors see, feel and are happy to return to Lonjsko polje.

Lonjsko Polje Nature Park is one of the largest and best preserved natural floodplains in Europe. Every year, the waters of the Sava River and its tributaries pour into Lonjsko, Poganovo and Mokro polje. Thanks to such periodic flooding, the Nature Park is a unique treasure of biological diversity not only in Croatia, but on the entire Old Continent.
