Today in Split, the first certificates were awarded for catering establishments as part of the Dalmatian Brunch project initiated by the Tourist Board of Split-Dalmatia County, i.e. establishments and producers that use domestic, autochthonous products and prepare them in the traditional way.
This is a continuation of the "Dalmatian brunch" project, which, after the recently aired documentary series, also won the award for "Gastronomic Experience of the Year" at the Days of Croatian Tourism held in Opatija.
At the award ceremony itself, with the director of the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board Ivan Vladović, the prefect of the Split-Dalmatia County also participated Blaženko Boban, president of the Split County Chamber Joze Tomas and president of the Association of Hospitality Activities of HGK Jelena Tabak and numerous representatives from the tourist system in the Split-Dalmatia County.
"We started the Dalmatian Brunch project guided by the idea of showing local and foreign visitors what Dalmatia lives every day - moments of gathering around the table, simple but rich food, and the special feeling of belonging that comes with it. Our mission is not only to bring brunch closer, but to revive that feeling of connection with tradition, which is the heart and soul of the Dalmatian way of life. Likewise, we did not want this project to be just a tourist attraction, but also a return of value to our everyday lives. Through this project, we wanted to revive what we sometimes forget - brunch as a symbol, but also a way of life. With this project, we present not only our culinary heritage, but also the people who bring this heritage to life every day - our excellent chefs, restaurants, taverns and small local producers who proudly nurture authenticity. That is why it is a special pleasure and honor for me today that we have the opportunity to give recognition, that is, to present certificates to those who participated in this project. This confirms our common commitment to preserving what makes Dalmatia special", said Ivana Vladović during the awarding of recognition and certificates.
