At the 25th Congress of Hoteliers, awards for the best hotel managers were awarded for the first time, and the winners were chosen by the expert jury of the UPUHH. The prizes were awarded in cooperation with the prestigious Swiss university Le Roche.
Belinda Lorraine Božanja, director of Valamar Argosy Hotel 4*, was awarded as the best hotel manager in 2023and with a special recognition for dedication quality of service.
The award was presented to her at the 25th congress of hoteliers powered by Istratech, which is being held at the Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Zagreb. The award for the best hotel manager was initiated this year by the Association of Entrepreneurs in the Hotel Industry of Croatia (UPUHH), and the award is a special recognition for an individual's outstanding contribution and influence on the development of the hotel industry.
Belinda Božanja is the director of the Valamar Argosy Hotel 4* in Dubrovnik, and her rich experience of over 20 years as a director in successful 4- and 5-star hotels is proof of her continued commitment to quality.
Her role as a mentor is particularly noteworthy, where she selflessly shares her practical and theoretical knowledge with younger colleagues who contribute to the realization of the mission and vision of Valamar. Her dedication and expertise are reflected in the success of Argosy Hotel, which under her leadership has seen continuous growth and increased revenue.

The prize is awarded in partnership with Les Roches University from Switzerland, which will enable the awardees to participate in the Future Hospitality Summit conference in Dubai in 2024, and grant a 50% discount on tuition fees for selected Executive MBA and Master programs.
U category for the best manager of a 5-star hotel for 2023. she was awarded Larisa Brljafa from Maistra, director of the Lone Hotel. He was declared the best manager of a 3- or 4-star hotel for 2023 Mateo Žiković, from Aminess Hotels & Resorts, director of Maestral Hotel. The jury also awarded a special award for dedication to service quality, and she won it Belinda Božanja from Valamar Riviera, director of the Argossy Hotel.
Also, UPUHH celebrated 30 years of the Association's existence, and special awards for contribution to the association and the profession were awarded to the first president of HUH, Franc Palma, long-time president of the association in three mandates, Ivan Šorić, a special recognition was given to the professor Zdenko Cerović, and he received the recognition and Anđelko Leko posthumously.
