On the occasion of the World Tourism Day in Mali Lošinj, awards and recognitions were given to employees who contributed to the development of tourism in the destination

Already traditionally, on the occasion of World Tourism Day, on September 27, 2023, the City of Mali Lošinj i Mali Lošinj Tourist Board in the Apoksiomena Museum, they awarded awards and recognitions to employees who contributed to the development of tourism in the destination.

"MAN – THE KEY TO SUCCESS IN TOURISM"

In an action aimed at improving quality and hospitality in the destination, the following were awarded this year: Željko Šoša (agency employee), Giovanna Komadina (sales and marketing employee in tourism), Regina Baričević (receptionist at the camp), Ivana Budinić (receptionist at the hotel). , Damir Badurina (tourist guide), Fulvia Lettich-Gadža (cook), Antun Šimičić (private landlord), Mario Žagar (policeman), Snezana Bulić (saleswoman), Predrag Zečević (driver), Jakob Knežević (waiter), Nadica Petak ( hotel housekeeping employee), Danijel Grulović (environmental design and maintenance worker), Josipa Keč (utility program worker), Borislav Jušić (marina worker), Antonio Ostroman (nautical tourism port worker), Tomislav Miočić (firefighter), dr. Branko Lakner (employee in a health facility) and Antonia Kurajić and Petar Pavličić (excellent students for their success in competitions).

EXCEPTIONAL CONTRIBUTION TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF TOURISM!

A special award was given for an exceptional contribution to the development of tourism Adrian Nikolic which with its many years of commitment in the fields of hospitality and the preservation of the gastronomic and historical heritage of Lošinj, as well as its active participation, contributes to the development of tourism on the island.

SPECIAL RECOGNITIONS – HERITAGE PRESERVATION AND TOURISM PROMOTION

Special awards were also given to associations and individuals responsible for the tourism promotion of the destination and the preservation of Lošinj's heritage. For 70 years of activity and enrichment of cultural and traditional heritage, recognition was awarded Studenac folklore society. The Smeraldo Nerezine pharmacy was also recognized for its service and improving the quality of life of its patients and fellow citizens. Always available for Lošinj residents and guests, Radio Mali Lošinj - Radio Jadranka is a station that has been entertaining and informing everyone on the island since 1996. Digitization, live stream, news in foreign languages ​​are just some of the important aspects that this Lošinj radio contributes to the quality of life on the island. Klapa Augusta participates actively and devotedly in all events on Lošinj, and these members also deserve recognition. The winner of the award is i Ivo Rušin, a lover of the heritage of his island and the most dedicated non-resident collector. There is also Osoršćica Mountaineering Society with its campaigns to popularize hiking and walking, excursions, renovation of the mountain lodge of St. Gaudent and cooperation with the tourist boards of Lošinj and Cres. This year, the newly founded company also deserved a special recognition Association Salbun from Susak for their proactiveness and togetherness and the preservation of the sandy island of Susak, and for presenting Lošinj and its traditions to a team that has been working for more than 20 years Lošinj Carnival Association an award was also presented.

LOCAL PRODUCTS FROM LOŠINJ

As many as 16 authors from the area of ​​the Town of Mali Lošinj submitted their original handicrafts and products and thus received the label "Lošinj local product". One of the criteria was to clearly recognize the origin of the products, which must be connected to the Cres-Lošinj archipelago, as well as artistic and design originality. On this occasion, in addition to recognition, the awarded employees received local products from Lošinj as a sign of attention.

AKCIJA 'LOŠINJA FLOWER'

As part of the 'Lošinj flower' campaign, recognition was given to the locals who, with their efforts, contributed to the better appearance of the street and the entire place. The award-winning garden was especially noticed in the patrol of Novi List in the tour of the most beautiful gardens and gardens of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County; Dijane Letić from Veli Lošinj.

Recognitions and Lošinj local products in the form of prizes were presented to numerous winners by the Mayor of the City of Mali Lošinj Ana Kučić and the Director of the Tourist Board of the City of Mali Lošinj Dalibor Cvitković.            

"Traditionally, on the occasion of the World Tourism Day in September, we reward individuals, associations and those deserving for their contribution and tourism promotion. The employees who have just been awarded are proof that hard work and persistence pay off. Every individual in the destination participates in creating an image of Lošinj, as well as Croatia. Without high-quality cooperation and coexistence of residents, employees and guests, tourism on Lošinj would not exist", pointed out the director of the Tourist Board of the City of Mali Lošinj Dalibor Cvitkovic and thanked and congratulated everyone.

Otherwise, World Tourism Day, which is celebrated every year on September 27, promotes awareness of the social, cultural, political and economic value of tourism and the contribution that this sector can make to achieving the goals of sustainable development. According to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), this year's theme is a call to action for the international community, governments, financial institutions, development partners and investors from the private sector to unite around a new investment strategy in tourism. Investments as one of the key priorities for tourism recovery and future growth and development.
