The "New Wave of Tourism" conference will be held on May 5.5.2023, XNUMX. in Opatija, in Hotel Ambasador (Feliksa Peršića 5), starting at 09:00.
The conference is organized by the Regional Center of Competence in Tourism and Hospitality, which operates as part of the Hospitality School in Opatija.
Eminent experts from the sector will be at the conference to acquaint more than one hundred educational staff of vocational schools with sustainable and green tourism and hospitality, as well as with the latest trends and innovations in that sector.
Regional center of competence in tourism and hospitality with this type of activity enables high school employees to be up to date with current trends in the sector and so on supports the modernization of vocational education. The conference creates space for dialogue between secondary vocational schools and the economic, scientific and public sectors.
In the first thematic block, the introductory presentation "Contemporary trends in tourism" will be given by Ph.D. Sanja Čižmar. The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion on the topic "Expectations and key challenges in tourism and hospitality in 2023". Panel discussion, in which they participate Maja Šimunić, Goran Ćorluka, Ivan Jug and Vanja Vitezić, will moderate Krešimir Mikinac.
"Media diet in the 21st century and its influence on innovations in tourism" is the title of the presentation by associate professor. Ph.D. Domagoj Bebić which will open the central thematic block. Panelists Tomislav Lesinger, Gordana Benat, Ivan Bilandžić, Mirna Karzen and Denis Ivošević will discuss how innovations in tourism and hospitality lead to a better future for Croatia, with moderation Darija Zorić.
He will introduce us to the last part of the conference M.Sc. Neda Telišman – Kosuta presentation "Sustainable and green tourism". He will give his contribution to the last panel discussion "Sustainable tourism - how the hotel and related industry transforms into a sustainable economy". Igor Nekić, Bernard Zenzerović, Maja Bosanac and Nuša Korotaj. The moderator of the third panel is Goran Rihelj.
