There are only a few days left until the end of the public debate, or consultation with the interested public, Fr the draft proposal of the Law on Tourism.
Recall, eConsultation je opened on July 26 and runs until August 26, and a month of discussion and proposals would be enough if it weren't for one "small" problem - the tourist season.
Croatia as a tourist country, mostly of sea and sun, is a real magnet for domestic and foreign tourists in the summer months. Tourist boards, especially those along the coast, are not without work at that time, so with numerous daily tasks, studying the Law on Tourism - as important as it is - can hardly be a higher priority than solving current problems.
The Tourism Act regulates the tourism system, managing tourism development in the direction of sustainability, ensuring sustainability, the system of data collection, monitoring and analysis, the destination management system, the system of encouraging, monitoring and analyzing investments in tourism. All these are important items for a tourist country.
This is an important law for Croatian tourism, but the ongoing problems of coastal tourist communities still have priority at the moment.
This is supported by some of the proposals of tourist boards and individuals who left their comments in the eAdvice. Among other things, an extension of the deadline for the discussion is requested, from one month to the end of November.
Reason?
"Stakeholders in tourism during the season do not have time to study the proposal of the Law and comment."
