The Zagreb County Tourist Board organized the second meeting of the coordination of the Zagreb County Tourist Board system in Vršilnica - Novi Dvori in Zaprešić.
After the coordination, an education was held on the topic of EU funds - preparation for the new programming period 2021-2027, which was attended by representatives of Zagreb County Development Agencies. The training presented the possibilities of co-financing projects in the tourism sector and enabled the presentation of potential project ideas and projects in preparation.
The need to define strategic planning was noticed in the field, as well as the importance of the expected results of potential projects and the necessary criteria that they must meet, and the most important step is the cooperation of all stakeholders, said the Zagreb County Tourist Board.
Director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board Ivana Alilović, noted that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant disruptions to the global economy and affected people’s willingness to travel.
“Since March 2020, the entire tourism value chain that defines the industry, including airlines, bus and train companies, cruise ships, hotels, restaurants, attractions, travel agencies, tour operators, online travel entities and others, has entered a state of suspended animation. It is quite clear that the tourism sector is more sensitive than other sectors to external shocks, as there are often no alternatives. At the training we want to point out the importance of revitalizing the tourism sector - the sector must become more sustainable, innovative and resilient in the future. It is clear from the European Commission's guidelines that the solution is likely to be local and European, digital and green. " - Alilović emphasized.
