The Tourist Board of the City of Krk has already announced 11th competition for the application of souvenir solutions. If they meet the propositions of the tender, and then the criteria of the Expert Committee, they will be marked with a stamp "Gift from Krk ". Each author or producer can apply for a maximum of three solutions, and the selected souvenirs will receive a Certificate of Authenticity.

The souvenir from the Dar from Krk series, as the stamp reveals, is a kind of present of the city, but also a reflection of the continuity of its artistic, cultural, cultural-historical or cultural heritage. Original Krk souvenirs are selected in a competition that is held once a year, given the high criteria, among which stand out: originality, authenticity, integrity, aesthetics, quality workmanship, as well as the use of ecological and typical for Krk climate materials and technique.
In addition, over the years, preference has been given to those souvenirs that have been able to interpret the cultural, cultural and tourist values of the city and the island of Krk in different ways, taking into account their historical heritage and rich architectural, sculptural, painting and natural heritage. However, the greatest attention was drawn to creative solutions, which have so far motivated them by five thematic challenges: from the forms of round and angular Glagolitic, through authentic island soundscape and the history of the Frankopan Princes of Krk, to the lives of saints. Krka and the island's natural heritage.
Guided by the perception of the city and the island of Krk as an attractive outdoor destination, this year's competition is also thematic, which means that searches for souvenir solutions inspired by the colors, scents (and flavors) of the island's flora. Authors and producers can propose their creative solutions until March 21 this year.
If he satisfies the proposed propositions, which is decided by the Tender Committee, the souvenir becomes the proud holder of the Dar from Krk stamp.

Every year, the souvenir competition on the island of Krk attracts a large number of authors and producers. Among them is Katica Orlovčić with the Kat's Clay brand, a craft based in the small village of Kras in the center of the island of Krk. Katica is a dental technician by profession, but she decided to try a more creative activity.
I enrolled in a ceramics course with the help of Blanka Petrić from the Cambun studio. During that period I learned about the "Gift from Krk" competition and decided to test my skills and creativity by applying for my handmade Kamižot mug. The mug is a folk costume skirt. of the island of Krk (Kamižot). I make three models of cups, with Dubašljan, Dobrinj and Vrben characteristics ", points out Orlovčić.
Another special feature are the small shoes at the bottom of the cup, which customers often admire and give it a playful modern detail. The desire was to present traditional designs in a modern way, and bring the product closer to the young population.
After the cup was chosen along with other souvenirs "Gift from Krk", it resonated on social networks and great interest was created for it. The kind words and inquiries of people she did not know delighted her and that was her motivation for a more serious job that makes her happy.
