Days of taste of Croatian tradition in about a hundred restaurants from 12 counties

The Days of Taste of Croatian Tradition event is a unique festival of autochthonous and traditional gastronomy. It is also a kind of invitation to get to know and explore Croatian counties and their peculiarities enhanced by the values ​​of a true dining experience.

Its hosts are restaurants, standard bearers Flavors of Croatian tradition, who cherish the preparation of traditional dishes whose charm and taste are drawn from the way they are prepared according to old recipes and customs, but also modern culinary techniques and the values ​​of local ingredients.

About a hundred of them from twelve counties have prepared a wide range of dishes that they will offer to guests in specially designed menus consisting of three courses at prices ranging from 15 to 30 Euros. It is a real opportunity to try a piece of the wealth of Croatian culinary treasures and dining culture. 

The event, which is jointly organized by 12 county tourist boards under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, was presented yesterday in the iconic Zagreb restaurant Stari Puntijar.

Speaking about the event, but also about the project Tastes of Croatian Tradition Marcel Medak, the president of the project council, emphasized its importance in popularizing the value of Croatian dining culture, especially the traditional cuisine of local and regional areas, and based on this the more meaningful development of Croatian food and wine tourism. Zlatko Puntijar,  the host of the presentation, he especially emphasized the importance and the need to preserve the tradition of food preparation according to old recipes and local traditional foods as one of the extremely important and true values ​​of preserving national identity. Roman Fekeža, representative of the Zagreb County Tourist Board, introduced the attendees to the offer of a dozen Zagreb County restaurants that traditionally participate in this event.
