Director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić, at the same time the vice president of ETC (European Travel Commission) participated in Warsaw, in the premises of the State Ethnographic Museum, at To the meeting of the leaders of the tourism industry which brought together the leaders of Polish tourism. It is a conference where, together with Staničić, representatives of the largest Polish travel agencies, tour operators, institutions and organizations discussed contemporary challenges and practices of the tourism sector.

Staničić explained, among other things, on the basis of the relationship between Poles and Croats in the context of tourism results, what is most conducive to achieving positive developments and trends in the sector, which is often the main driver of the national economy. In addition, he referred to the impact of climate change on tourism in Croatia and the need to adapt the tourism sector to the rules of sustainability.

"Croatia has been building its tourism brand for years on the attributes of the 'ecological oasis of Europe', i.e. a country that is recognized on almost all broadcast markets as authentic and preserved, either in terms of natural resources or traditional and cultural values. We know that Poles are extremely appreciate the Croatian sea, cultural closeness and compatibility of mentality. Our goal in the future is to avoid the phenomenon of excessive tourism and preserve the comparative advantages of Croatia based on the image of a destination that has managed to maintain its original identity for the benefit of the local population and our visitors.", he said Stanicic adding that Croatia is available to Polish guests throughout the year through increasingly better air connections, as well as by road, which was further simplified by the entry of our country into the Schengen area.

"We want to position ourselves more strongly on the Polish market as a top Mediterranean destination with a quality offer", said Staničić.

Among others, the president of the Polish Institute for Tourism Research spoke about the current directions in which today's tourism is moving Andrzej Betlej, president of the Polish Tourist Chamber and member of the board of directors of ECTAA Paweł Niewiadomski and the state secretary responsible for tourism Piotr Borys, commenting on the attitude of the main European authorities towards the tourism industry. The conference was also attended by representatives of the most famous Polish travel agencies such as Itaka, Rainbow, Coral Travel and Grecos.

"The meeting of the director of HTZ with key representatives of the Polish tourism sector provides us with an opportunity to further strengthen cooperation in terms of the development of tourism in our two countries. We are extremely optimistic about the potential coming from the Polish market, and we expect a strong contribution of Poles to the overall tourism results of Croatia this year as well ", she said Małgorzata Kowalska, Director of the CNTB Representation in Poland.

Let's add that in the current part of the year, Poles have achieved over 26 arrivals and more than 94 overnight stays in our country, which compared to the same period last year represents a growth of 34 percent in arrivals and 30 percent in overnight stays. The favorite destinations of Poles in the current part of the year are Zadar, Dubrovnik, Zagreb and Split.
