Education in catering and tourism - "Scholarships" received by 292 pupils and students

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports in cooperation with the Central State Office for Demography and Youth, for the school year 2023/2024. year, published and conducted a public call encouraging education in catering and tourism "Scholarships" in cooperation with employers, for which €747.720 was provided.

50 employers applied for the Public Call. Interest has been expressed for a total of 292 scholarship holders, of which 271 are students and 21 are students with whom tripartite contracts will be signed.

The program has been implemented since 2008, and in the past six years, the Ministry has signed 1.586 tripartite contracts for this purpose, for which more than two million euros have been allocated. The funds are intended for the co-financing of scholarships for end users, pupils and students. The total amount of the scholarship is €266 per student per month, of which the Ministry provides €186, and the employer €80.

The largest number of scholarship recipients, 71 of them, will go to the Plitvice Lakes National Park, for which slightly more than 13 thousand euros will be allocated from the budget. It is followed by Valamar Riviera with 65 scholarship holders and 12 thousand euros, and Imperial Riviera with 23 and AMINESS with 20 scholarship holders and a total of eight thousand euros.
