On Monday, July 26, the necessary epidemiological measures for the area of ​​Dubrovnik-Neretva, Split-Dalmatia, Šibenik-Knin, Zadar, Primorje-Gorski Kotar and Istria counties and the City of Novalja, the City of Senj and the Municipality of Karlobag will come into force.

The necessary epidemiological measures are determined until August 15.

Given the epidemiological situation and the increased risk of COVID-19 disease transmission, the necessary epidemiological measures are being introduced, such as:

  • ban on holding all public events and gatherings at which it is held more than 50 people present in one place, unless it is a public event or gathering attended only by persons with an EU digital COVID certificate and no more than 1.000 persons will participate, and the competent civil protection headquarters of the local self-government unit and the competent county headquarters have given their consent *;
  • public events and gatherings and celebrations of all kinds of mine last no longer than 24:00;
  • holding private ceremonies and gatherings of all kinds (including wedding ceremonies) in catering and other facilities is allowed in compliance with all prescribed epidemiological measures, if at the ceremony no more than 15 people are present;
  • limiting the number of guests which can be at the same time in catering facilities from Categories "Bars", which, by a decision of the Civil Protection Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia introducing necessary epidemiological measures restricting gatherings and introducing other necessary epidemiological measures and recommendations to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 through gatherings, allowed work for a maximum of 1.000 guests;
  • fairs and other forms of economic events where products are sold, exhibited or displayed, which are held in the open, may be maintained only with the consent of the local and county headquarters *;
  • sports competitions with the presence of spectators can be organized only if all spectators and technical and organizational staff present at the competition have EU digital COVID certificates.

* Organizers of public events and gatherings and organizers of fairs and other economic events are obliged, no later than 7 days before the event, to notify the intention to organize such a gathering or fair, or other form of economic event indicating the place and time and the expected number of people present, submit to the headquarters of the local self-government unit in whose area such a public event or gathering, or holding a fair or other form of economic event will be held, and request prior consent for holding.

Competent headquarters of the local self-government unit he is obliged to make a decision on granting or a decision on denial within 2 days of receiving the request and submit it, together with the request for issuance of consent, to the county headquarters.

County headquarters he is obliged to make a decision on granting or a decision to refuse consent within 2 days and, if he responds to the request as the civil protection headquarters of the local self-government unit, to submit his decision to the civil protection headquarters of the local self-government unit.

What if one of the competent headquarters gives its consent and the other denies it?

If for a public event or gathering, or for holding a fair or other form of economic event, one of the competent headquarters gives consent, and the other denies it, the county headquarters is obliged to submit its decision and the decision of the local headquarters to the Civil Protection Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia. giving or deciding on the denial of consent for holding a public event or gathering, or holding a fair or other form of economic event.

As an exception to the prohibitions and restrictions from this Decision, public events or gatherings with more than 1.000 persons may be allowed, if the Civil Protection Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia gives its consent for such a public event or gathering.

Civil Protection Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia consent may be given if the following conditions are met:

  • the organizer requests, and the County Institute of Public Health develops an epidemiological framework for the holding of a public event or gathering
  • The Croatian Institute of Public Health positively assesses the epidemiological framework and proposes to the Civil Protection Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia to give consent to hold a public event or gathering.

They commit county civil protection headquarters that, immediately upon receipt of notification of a professional artistic performance, program or event whose holding is permitted or a sporting event in the presence of spectators, verify that the conditions for holding prescribed by this Decision or the Decision introducing necessary epidemiological measures restricting gatherings and introducing other necessary epidemiological measures and recommendations to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 through assembly.

If the conditions are not met, the county headquarters is obliged to immediately inform the organizer and warn him that a professional artistic performance, program or event, or sports competition in the presence of spectators can not be held if the prescribed conditions are not met.

191 new cases in the past 24 hours, 16.712 doses of vaccine consumed 

In the past 24 hours, 191 new cases were recorded, so the number of active cases in Croatia today is a total of 1.013. Among them, 121 patients are in hospital, of which 15 are on a respirator. In the past 24 hours, 135 people recovered and 6.118 were tested. 

As of July 23, 2.997.335 doses of vaccine had been consumed, and 39,9% of the total population and 47,9% of the adult population had been vaccinated.

As of yesterday, 1.617.306 people had been vaccinated with at least one dose, of whom 1.423.795 people (1.380.029 people vaccinated with two doses and 43.766 people vaccinated with Jannsen) had been vaccinated, accounting for 42,27% of the adult population.
