EU digital COVID certificates are valid for 270 days as of today. The duration of previously issued certificates is automatically extended and it is not necessary to re-submit the application, the Agency for Commercial Activity (AKD) announced today.
In accordance with the decision of the National Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia, digital COVID certificates in the Republic of Croatia have been implemented in the EU system as of today a new rule extending the duration of vaccination certificates to 270 days. The new duration of certificates applies to all new certificates, as well as to those previously issued. Citizens who have already obtained their certificates will not have to seek re-issuance because the duration of their existing ones will be automatically extended.
EU digital COVID vaccination certificate can be obtained by persons who have been vaccinated with both doses of the vaccine against COVID-19 (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca) and persons who have been vaccinated with two doses of different vaccines received in two doses, for example, a person has received the first dose of AstraZeneca, the second Pfizer. In both cases, according to the new rules, the certificate will be valid for 270 days from the day of vaccination with the second dose.
People who have been vaccinated with a single-dose vaccine (Janssen) can now request confirmation on the 15th day after receiving the vaccine dose. Their certificate will also be valid for 270 days from the day of vaccination. Confirmation can also be requested by persons who have been vaccinated with one dose of the vaccine received in two doses (Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca) who have a positive test 180 days back from the day of receiving the vaccine. They can request a certificate from the day of vaccination and it will be valid for 270 days.
From now on, it is now possible to check the status of the EU digital COVID certificate through a mobile application CovidGO, by storing the receipt in the digital wallet application.
As previously announced, as of this week, with the new upgrade of the CovidGO mobile application, it is possible to store EU digital COVID certificates in a digital wallet within the application, with the existing functionality of verifying them. The digital wallet also takes care of the status of the EU digital COVID certificate - the validity date is printed in the application, and a green tick √ or a red X indicates the current status of the certificate in accordance with Croatian verification rules.
Citizens who receive their confirmation via e-mail on a mobile device can save it in a digital wallet by clicking on the link from the e-mail which also contains the password. Citizens can save previously issued certificates by scanning the QR code and entering the password from the certificate.
