This year's Days of Croatian Tourism (DHT), are held on November 21 and 22 in Opatija on the occasion of celebrating 180 years of organized tourism in this region of Kvarner, but also of Croatia as a whole.

As every year, the DHT will be awarded i annual Croatian tourism awards.

These are awards jointly awarded by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, and the Croatian Tourist Board, and will be awarded to the best in tourism as part of 

Thus, this year the prizes will be awarded in total 15 main categories, i.e. for tourist event of the year, tourist destination of the year - champion of Croatian tourism, DMK - tourist arrangement of the year, gastronomic experience of the year, hotel of the year (award will be awarded to the best small and large hotel), campsite of the year, marina of the year, charter of the year, and are also awards in active, cultural, business, rural and health tourism, as well as the Naturally Yours award for a special contribution to sustainable development.

"We are building the new foundations of Croatian tourism on the principles of sustainability and the development of year-round and more regionally balanced tourism, and the key to such development is the contribution of all stakeholders, which has made our country recognized as one of the most desirable destinations for many years. With the annual Croatian tourism awards, we therefore reward everyone who, through their efforts, dedication, hospitality and innovation, is responsible for the success of Croatian tourism, from companies, associations, people to the local community. I invite those interested to nominate everyone whom they consider to have added value to Croatian tourism through their engagement and made Croatia attractive and desirable for every guest, so that we can reward the best of the best in Opatija this year.", he said Tonči Glavina, Minister of Tourism and Sports. 

Applications are also accepted for the category People in tourism, as part of which the "Anton Štifanić" award will be awarded for an individual and for a company, institution or association, i.e. the Lifetime Achievement Award and the "Man - key to success, employee of the year" award, which is awarded in 19 subcategories such as are an agency worker, tour guide, reception worker, waiter, police officer, fireman, cook, hotel housekeeping worker, transport worker, etc.

"Croatia is a leading tourist destination in the Mediterranean whose positive reputation and global competitiveness are largely due to our many tourism workers, individuals, and tourism companies. In this way, we provide all actors in tourism with the opportunity to publicly express the best practices in our sector, present excellence and demonstrate innovation in domestic tourism. That's why I invite my colleagues to register all those who they believe have refreshed and improved Croatian tourism with their effort, courage, creativity and ambition, i.e. contributed to the status of our country as an attractive tourist destination that is certainly adorned by accessibility and friendliness    our people", he said Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian Tourist Board. 

"Tourism, as an increasingly strong axis of the Croatian economy, requires continuous work on improving the quality of services in order to ensure long-term growth and visitor satisfaction. We know that there is no better advertisement than warm recommendations, and the credit for them is always and without exception – excellence. That's why we will reward practices that make a difference this year as well. I invite all companies in tourism to reward raising the quality bar and show how the best have contributed to the positive image of Croatian tourism", he concluded Luka Burilović, president of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce.

The deadline for submitting candidacies for all award categories has now been extended by 9 days, i.e. until September 15, 2024.,

Submission of candidacies is done exclusively through online application forms available on the official website of the event Days of Croatian tourism.

We always proudly remind you that as part of the traditional tourist event Days of Croatian Tourism 2021, the annual award was given to Anton Štifanić, the founder and owner of the portal HrTurizam and Tourist Stories, Goran Rihelj.
