When creativity and the desire to preserve our planet come together, true small masterpieces are created.

Venue: Falkensteiner Resort Punta Skala, a premium resort not far from Zadar well known for its green philosophy and ecological sustainability systems.

At the creative workshop at Hotel & Spa Iadera as part of the project "By the sea for the sea: a green mission for the sustainable future of Croatia", Franka Batelić, David Skoko, Ivan Dečak, Dino Dragija, Kristijan Iličić, Marijana Batinić and the rest of the fishing nets and made original handbags from braided ropes.

"We are very satisfied with the first edition of the project. Thank you to everyone who supported us in this important step of preserving the Adriatic and creating a sustainable future. The connection with the Provir project happened a year ago, when Božidar Blaslov started researching how and where fishing nets are disposed of and recycled. This led him to me and the information that I have already launched two collections made of ECONYL®, a material created from discarded fishing nets. So far, this initiative has collected 21 tons of fishing nets and nylon waste and turned them into a new raw material.", said the fashion designer Kristina Burja.

Green is in fashion

Environmental protection, wastewater treatment, waste reduction and optimization of energy consumption are just some of the solutions at Falkensteiner Resort Punta Skala.

Following the global environmental protection movement, plastic straws and cutlery are not used in the resort, and glasses, bottles and straws made of biodegradable or reusable materials have been introduced. The waste is completely recycled.

The economical heating and cooling system reduces the need to use fossil fuels because seawater is pumped and used for cooling in the summer and for heating in the winter. What further contributes to the epithet of an ecological oasis is the car-free zone. Therefore, an underground garage is integrated into the environment so that cars do not have to park in front of the hotel, pollute the environment, but also disturb the rest with noise.

The resort also has four chargers for electric cars, and each of the five exclusive villas in the resort - Falkensteiner Luxury Villas - also has its own charger.

The resort also has its own waste water purifier, which is purified through biological devices and stored with collected rainwater and water for rinsing from the bathroom. Waste water is used not only for flushing toilets but also for watering gardens, while the desalination plant desalinates part of the seawater through an osmosis device and this water can be used as drinking water. The rest is discharged back into the sea. The resort also has an Ecolabel certificate.

Welcome home in an oasis of peace and refined hedonism, in a green resort where our planet is well preserved!
