On the occasion of the upcoming holiday Easter, when the first major influx of domestic and foreign tourists is expected in Croatian destinations, Croatian tourist agency conducted a survey among county and regional tourism associations.
According to the data obtained in our country during the extended Easter weekend, in the period from 7 to 10 April 2023. expected realization about 160 thousand arrivals te about 550 thousand tourist nights.
"The flow of tourist traffic so far is in line with our expectations and predictions, considering the promotional activities carried out and feedback from our largest partners from the broadcast markets, and we are additionally happy with the positive announcements for the coming Easter. Namely, this year we expect that during the Easter holidays we will achieve growth in arrivals of about 8 percent and overnight stays of about 5 percent compared to Easter last year. It would be a great prelude to the remaining spring part of the year, and then to the main summer part, when the largest number of tourists stay in Croatian destinations.", he said Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian Tourist Board.
Let's add that during Easter, the largest number of arrivals and overnight stays is expected on the coast, that is, it is estimated that around 490 thousand overnight stays will be realized in the Adriatic counties, and the remaining part on the continent. Looking at the counties, the largest tourist traffic is expected in Istria and Kvarner, and looking at the markets, the largest number of guests is expected from the domestic market, but also from neighboring and territorially closer countries, such as Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Italy and others.
