The passenger terminal of Franjo Tuđman Airport welcomed the 01 millionth passenger in 4 on December 2024. For the first time in history, Zagreb celebrated four millionth passengers in one year.

The four millionth passenger was recorded on a Croatia Airlines flight OU368 Zagreb - Skopje, and the lucky passenger is Mrs. Ana Vučić.

This significant achievement is the result of a series of activities of the company, which have led to a continuous increase in passenger traffic for several seasons in a row, according to Zagreb International Airport (MZLZ).

"I congratulate the lucky passenger, Mrs. Vučić, and thank all passengers who used the services of our airport this year and thus contributed to excellent traffic results. I would like to thank Croatia Airlines for joining today's celebration and together with us, gifting our common passenger. I would like to point out that the celebration of the four millionth passenger, for the first time in history in Zagreb, represents a special success both for Zagreb International Airport and for the aviation and tourism industry in Croatia..” he stated Nicolas Duthilleul, Executive Director and Member of the Management Board of Zagreb International Airport dd, who presented the lucky passenger with appropriate gifts.

Croatia Airlines presented a passenger with two round-trip airline tickets to a European destination of their choice, and presented a valuable gift Marija Pavić, Croatia Airlines sales manager.

"We sincerely congratulate our colleagues and partners from MZL Zagreb on the record passenger traffic in their history! We are glad that the jubilee passenger was recorded on one of our flights in a year in which we significantly expanded the network of international flights from Zagreb by introducing new seasonal lines for Berlin, Stockholm and Tirana, connecting MZL Zagreb with a total of 18 international destinations dynamics of the delivery of our new Airbus A220 aircraftPavić said.

Franjo Tuđman Airport expects a total traffic of 4.3 million passengers in 2024.

Throughout the year, Zagreb is directly connected to major European hubs such as London, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Copenhagen, Rome, Athens, Barcelona and Vienna. From May 2024, the national carrier Croatia Airlines expanded its range of routes to Stockholm, Berlin and Tirana, making Zagreb even more accessible for business and tourist travelers.

Franjo Tuđman Airport achieves more and more even traffic throughout the year, with a noticeably reduced seasonality, they state from Zagreb International Airport and add that the growth of traffic in the spring and autumn months is especially significant.

"In October of this year, the traffic reached as much as 95% of the level from August, which testifies to the increasing demand for travel in the less attractive months and confirms Zagreb as a dynamic traffic hub throughout the year. With this range of destinations, Zagreb Airport is a significant platform for the development of continental tourism, playing an important role in the availability of the rich cultural heritage, natural beauty and unique experiences that continental Croatia offers", they point out from MZLZ.

Zagreb International Airport dd, in cooperation with 20 airlines, in 2024 enabled the connection of Zagreb with a total of 66 destinations, among which four intercontinental lines stand out, which further strengthens the status of Zagreb as an increasingly important transport hub of the wider environment, playing a significant role in contribution to its economic development.

Zagreb International Airport dd records a further continuation of positive traffic trends, and expects a total traffic of 4.3 million passengers in 2024.
