The city of Poreč has the title of Champion of Croatian tourism for the year 2024

In the beautiful setting of the Crystal Hall of Hotel Kvarner in Opatija, the final festive evening was held Days of Croatian tourism, the most important annual event in the Croatian tourism sector. During the evening, prestigious prizes were awarded Annual Croatian Tourist Awards, and a special recognition - a title Champion of Croatian tourism for 2024 - it belonged to the city I deny it.

With this award, Poreč once again confirmed its status as a leading tourist destination in Croatia. Continuous development, diversity of content, excellent service and a unique combination of natural beauty, cultural heritage and top infrastructure set Poreč apart from other destinations on the Adriatic and beyond.

The mayor of the city of Poreč accepted the award to the applause of the crowd Loris Peršurić, to whom it was presented by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenkovic. The thunderous applause of the present tourism workers from all over Croatia further confirmed the status of Poreč as a role model in Croatian tourism.

A destination with a tradition of excellence

For decades, Poreč has stood as a bright example of sustainable and innovative tourism development. Since the 1980s, Poreč has been the recipient of numerous domestic and international awards that confirm its long-term commitment to quality. Over the years, the city has won prestigious awards such as Tourist flower and awards for the best camps, hotels and events, and the title Champion of Croatian tourism comes as the crown of many years of success.

"And while we often talk about investments, numbers and projects, the heart of our tourism is our people. Modernly decorated villas, hotels and perfectly decorated beaches would not make sense if we did not have the host's smile, a warm word and the effort of all of you who give your best every day of ourselves so that our guests leave happy and come back. This award obliges us to be even better. To preserve and develop what we have - our coast, our nature, our tradition. But most importantly, to preserve and support everything who give everything from himself so that Poreč will be and remain the champion of Croatian tourism, to the pride of all of us", the mayor of Poreč Loris Peršurić with appropriate words, he dedicated this award to all those involved in tourism.

Director of the Tourist Board of Poreč, Nenad Velenik, pointed out that this award is not only a recognition but also an incentive for further development.

"Poreč is a destination that continuously sets standards. Our variety of offers - from cultural heritage, sports and recreational facilities, to wine and gastronomic experiences - makes us an indispensable point on the tourist map. This award is the result of the joint work and dedication of everyone involved in the tourism story of our of the city - from employees in tourism, restaurateurs, hoteliers and entrepreneurs, all the way to local authorities and the community. We are proud that the effort and vision we have been investing in for years have been recognized at the highest level.", he said Velenik.

Days of Croatian tourism every year highlight the best that Croatian tourism has to offer, and the award for Champion of Croatian tourism it is reserved for destinations that demonstrate excellence, innovation and a sustainable approach to development. Poreč once again proved that it is a leader in all these categories, thanks to the synergy of tradition, quality and vision of future development.

Poreč continues to be the leader of Croatian tourism, setting standards and remaining an example of how a destination can successfully connect rich history, contemporary trends and authentic experiences.
