Good cooperation between Hilton River Costabella Beach Resort & Spa i Faculty of Management in Tourism and Hospitality from Opatija (FMTU) continues with new projects.
Namely, the Faculty and Hilton Rijeka signed a donation agreement, which shows their mutual interest in designing and implementing a new eco-tourism project, in cooperation with Eco Committee of the Faculty.
Ryan Gauci, General Manager and Nataša Kovačić Stilinović, director of human resources from Hilton Rijeka Costabella Beach Resort & Spa visited the Faculty of Management in Tourism and Hospitality, where they were received by Dean Sandra Janković, Vice-Dean Marinela Krstinić Nižić, Vice-Dean Marko Perić and members of the Eco Committee, teachers Maša Trinajstić and students Lucija Bebić and Nina Jović of the Eco Committee.
On this occasion, they signed a donation agreement showing their mutual interest in designing and implementing it of the new eco-tourism project, in cooperation with the Eco Committee of the Faculty. The agreed cooperation is an introduction to the program on the occasion of the celebration 50th anniversary of the Faculty, and Hilton Global Foundation participates in the project with a donation of USD 1000.
This project will create a new tourist product, emphasizing the green and historical locations of the Faculty. The project plan is to set up QR boards at interesting locations within the faculty yard, which can be explored with the help of a map, and by reading the code at the point itself, users will be able to find out details about each location in Croatian and English.
It is also new that there will be hidden geocaches in certain locations. Geocaching is a combination of adventure and modern technology (GPS satellite navigation and Internet), the so-called hi-tech search for hidden treasure. This activity encourages being in nature and a sense of adventure among students, employees, tourists and local residents.
