The representative office of the Croatian Tourist Board in Italy will present the Croatian tourist offer at the international tourism fair Borsa Internazionale del Turisimo (BIT), which will be held in Milan from February 12 to 14, 2023. At the Croatian exhibition area, six co-exhibitors present their offer, i.e. the tourist boards of Kvarner, Lika-Senj, Zadar and Šibenik-Knin counties, as well as the tourist boards of the cities of Opatija and Rab, while exhibitors from more than 50 countries present their offers at the entire fair. among them are tourist organizations, associations, tour operators, agencies, airlines, etc. In addition to numerous visitors and partners, the Croatian Tourist Board's stand was also visited by the Consul General of the Republic of Croatia in Milan, Stjepan Ribić.

"The BIT fair represents the most important international tourist event in northern Italy, it is divided into several categories such as tourism, technology, business tourism and congresses, and is intended for business and general audiences. During the first day of the fair, exceptional interest in Croatia was recorded, and the largest number of inquiries of visitors related to nautical, outdoor offer, beaches and islands, camping offer and transport connections. In the coming period, we will continue with the intensive promotion of Croatia on the Italian market, so in this sense we are expected to appear at the BMT fair in Naples in March, as well as holding a series of business events workshop and presentation of Croatian tourism", said Viviana Vukelić, director of the Croatian Tourist Board's Representative Office in Milan.

Although tourist trends from the Italian market this year will mostly depend on the economic situation, according to current information and trends, the demand for tourist trips is expected to continue to grow.

"We are very satisfied with the feedback from the BIT fair in Milan. Italian partners confirm great interest in Croatia, and around Easter we have the first intense demand, and due to numerous holidays and extended weekends, Italians are expected to make numerous shorter trips during the year, especially to Croatian destinations, which are now even more accessible to them with our country's entry into Schengen", said Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian Tourist Board.

Let us add that the Italian market is traditionally among the top 10 markets from which the largest tourist traffic is generated in Croatia, and a strong contribution of this market to the overall results of Croatian tourism is expected during this year as well. The above is confirmed by the results achieved in the current part of 2023, during which Italians in our country achieved more than 17 thousand arrivals and over 45 thousand overnight stays, which compared to the same period in the record 2019, represents a growth of 7%.
