Croatia is at the top of the most sought-after destinations on the Austrian market

According to the results of the research conducted by the travel organizer Ruefa Reisen GmbH, Croatia ranked second among the most sought-after foreign destinations on the Austrian market.

Croatia took a high second place among the most sought-after foreign destinations on the market Austria! This is shown by the results of market research by a well-known travel organizer Ruefa Reisen GmbH who conducted the research "Reisekompass 2023." about trends in the travel sector this year. According to the research results, it takes the first place Italija with a share of 32%, it is second Croatia with a share of 28%, followed by Njemacka with 17%, Grčka with 12% and Španjolska with a 9% share.

"The results of this research confirm the now traditionally high position of our country among Austrians, i.e. their favorite foreign destinations. The above is especially important if we know that Austria is among the top three most important markets for Croatian tourism, and therefore the happy data from the research according to which 76% the respondent plans to spend his vacation in Europe. It is up to us to use all the potential that this market offers us with quality promotional campaigns, activities and programs and thus further strengthen Croatia's position among Austrians.", he said Branimir Tončinić, director of the HTZ Representative Office in Vienna, adding that the results of the research were also reported by numerous popular online professional magazines such as Tip Online, Hotel und Touristik, Der Standard and others.

Let's add that according to the research, every second person is planning their vacation at the sea this year, and 40% of the respondents are summer vacation also the main holiday of the year. Also, every third respondent is planning a trip to cities, and the demand for wellness packages te active rest.

"High demand for Croatia combined with Austrians' high demand for travel in Europe means for us very good tourism results from this market in 2023. Namely, as many as nine out of 10 respondents declared that they plan at least one trip this year, so we expect from the Austrian market a continuation of the positive trends from last year, when Austrians in our country achieved about 8,2 million overnight stays, which exceeded the result from the record year 5 by 2019%", said the director of the Croatian National Tourist Board Kristjan Staničić.

In addition to the above data, the research additionally showed how 29% He wants to take the Austrians on a trip this year from seven to 14 days, while 24% he wants to spend them on the trip two to three weeks, and when it comes to consumption it amounts to approx 1.700 euros which is about 150 euros more compared to last year's survey.
