HTZ, in cooperation with Expedia and ETC, promotes Croatia on the American market

Croatia's excellent position on the American market is also confirmed by trends from this year, during which around 230.000 Americans visited our country.

Since July 1, the Croatian Tourist Board has been conducting a promotional campaign on the American market, highlighting those tourist products and experiences, as well as the destinations for which American travel enthusiasts have shown the greatest interest. The campaign is carried out in cooperation with by expedia, a travel platform that includes over 200 websites in more than 70 countries around the world, and which is a particularly popular and used tool for searching and booking travel among Americans. 
 
"When we talk about Croatian tourism and distant markets, the USA is our most important market, from which we generate the most tourist traffic. This is confirmed by the results of individual researches, according to which about 27 percent of all online searches about Croatia come from the American market. With this campaign, we want to highlight the the best we have, that is, we want to use all the potential offered by this market and travelers who increasingly recognize Croatia as a tourist destination they want to visit", he said Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian Tourist Board. 

Additional goals of the campaign, which will be implemented until mid-October, were also highlighted by Leila Krešić-Jurić, director of the HTZ Representative Office in New York.

"The US market responds very well to promotional activities and messages related to Croatia as a tourist destination, and this campaign is a kind of upgrade of all these activities in order to achieve even better results and trends that this market really offers us.", she said Krešić-Jurić, adding that promotional activities are carried out as part of landing pages, specially created banners and promotional ads. 

Let's also add that a joint promotional campaign of the Croatian Tourist Board and is underway in this market European Travel Commission (ETC), which is carried out under the name "Europe invites the curious". Activities as part of the campaign will be carried out until mid-July on online channels, that is, on websites and social networks with the aim of targeting the audience that can best respond to promotional and invitational messages as precisely as possible.

Croatia's excellent position on the American market is also confirmed by trends from this year, during which, according to the eVisitor system, our country visited by about 230.000 Americans, who achieved more than 710.000 overnight stays. Compared to last year, the above represents a growth of 220% in arrivals and 152% in overnight stays, i.e. with this result we achieved a high 85% of the results in overnight stays from the record and pre-pandemic year 2019. At the same time, Americans spent the most overnight stays in destinations so far this year Dubrovnik, Split, Zagreb, Hvar, Opatija and Rovinj.
