HTZ: Ongoing campaign for early booking in the markets of Germany, UK and Sweden

This year, the Croatian Tourist Board is carrying out a campaign that, in addition to Germany, also includes the markets of the United Kingdom and Sweden

After the excellent results of last year's campaign to encourage early booking on the German market, Croatian tourist agency this year, he is conducting a campaign which, in addition to Njemačka as the most important emission market for Croatian tourism, it additionally includes the market of the United Kingdom te Sweden. Activities will be carried out until June 1th, and will include booking platforms Expedia.de, Fewo-direkt.de, Weg.de, Expedia.uk, Hotels.com UK and Hotels.com Sweden.

"As part of last year's campaign to encourage early booking, we achieved excellent results that stimulated new bookings worth more than 2,6 million euros on the German market. Given that there is a noticeable return of early booking on foreign markets, this year we have decided on promotional activities to encourage early bookings to be carried out on the UK and Swedish markets as well. The flow of tourist traffic so far, as well as feedback and announcements from partners, indicate that a successful season is ahead, i.e. a tourist year in which we should exceed the results from the record year 2019.", he said Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian Tourist Board.

Namely, after three years marked by the pandemic and a very careful reservation process in which last minute booking had a significant percentage, the trend of earlier bookings is returning again. This is also shown by Expedia's research, according to which 65% of users intend to book their vacation abroad three to six months in advance.

Considering the tendency to position Croatia as a year-round tourist destination, promotional activities during April, May and June will additionally contribute to the growth of tourist traffic outside the main season. Thus, as part of the campaign, emphasis was placed on those tourist products for which the greatest interest was expressed on the mentioned markets, and an additional special feature of this campaign is that the promotion of Croatia takes place through landing pages that are exclusively dedicated to our country and are located on platforms where users they can immediately book accommodation, which positively affects the growth of reservations.  

Let's add how it is in Croatia, according to system data eVisitor, in the current part of the year, a total of over 880 thousands of arrivals i 2,4 million nights which compared to 2019 represents a growth in arrivals of 1% and in overnight stays of 11%. At the same time, it is from the market Germany about 157 thousand overnight stays were achieved, which represents an increase of 8% compared to 2019, while from the market of the UK around 38 overnight stays were achieved, which represents an increase of 2019% compared to 52.
