HTZ represents Croatian tourism at the largest tourism fair ITB in Berlin

This year, 70 million trips are expected from the German market

Croatian tourist agency represents the overall Croatian tourist offer at the world's leading tourist fair ITB Berlin which is being held from 5 to 7 Marchjka. Except Croatian National Tourist Board as the main exhibitor, as part of the Croatian stand, the offer is presented by 20 co-exhibitors among which are tourist boards Split-Dalmatian, Dubrovnik-Neretva, Lika-Senj i Šibenik-Knin County, as well as cities destination, Split i Dubrovnik. A Croatian tourist delegation was also present at the fair Nikolina Brnjac, Minister of Tourism and Sports and Kristjan Staničić, director of HTZ.

"Croatia's appearance at one of the world's most important tourist fairs with a long-standing tradition is a great opportunity to further strengthen the position of our country as an attractive and sustainable tourist destination. The expressed interest of our partners and visitors and the great demand for travel are the best reason for further optimism and positive expectations in the upcoming tourist season. This year, 70 million trips are expected from the German market, which will last at least five days, so I firmly believe that with this presentation, among other things, we will maintain a competitive position on the German market, from which we still generate the largest tourist traffic.", he said Kristjan Staničić, director of HTZ, adding that positive tourism trends are expected to continue this year, with special emphasis on pre- and post-season periods in which Croatian tourism has the greatest scope for further sustainable growth and development.

This prestigious tourist event in Berlin brought together key stakeholders of the tourism sector from all parts of the world. Thus, HTZ representatives held meetings with important partners such as Jet2.com/Jet2holidays, Eurowings i KLM/Air France with whom business forecasts, expectations and increased cooperation were discussed.

"In the first two months of this year, German tourists in Croatia achieved 6 percent more arrivals compared to the same period last year, in which we achieved the best pre-season of Croatian tourism. The demand for Croatia is extremely good, and we are especially pleased by the fact that Croatia recognized as a desirable destination in the period before and after the season, which is in line with the strategic goals of Croatian tourism, i.e. the development of year-round tourism", said the minister Grinjak, who also participated in the Global Round Table of leading people in tourism in Berlin, where the topic was the transition of tourism and where she presented Croatia's activities in that area with an emphasis on tourism reform and the Tourism Act.

In addition, Minister Brnjac also met with the Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia Ahmed Al Khateeb and Secretary General of UN Tourism Zurab Pololikashvili with whom she discussed further steps of cooperation with other European and world countries on the topic of sustainability in tourism.

On the fair ITB the national carrier is also present Croatia Airlines who presented this year's summer flight schedule, emphasizing that during the tourist season Croatia is planned to connect with a total of 28 international destinations, while Croatia Airlines planes will fly on 50 international routes.

Also, as part of the Croatian stand, a presentation and tasting of top Croatian wines and cheeses was held in cooperation with Croatian Chamber of Commerce, and in addition, a joint presentation of Croatian health tourism entities was realized within the framework Medical & Health Pavillion dedicated to trends and practices in health tourism.

Let's add that the joint cooperation between HTZ and TZ Kvarner was also presented at the fair RDA, the European Professional Association of Bus Drivers, which after 20 years will have its own The annual assembly to be held in Croatia in October this year na Kvarner. The association has 2.600 direct and associate members from 40 countries and represents all those who offer services related to group bus travel.
