The Croatian Tourism Association (HUT), the umbrella association of the tourism sector in Croatia, expresses its satisfaction and strongly supports the initiative of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports to start organized vaccination of tourism workers and is ready, together with its members, to be actively involved in the operational implementation of the program.
At HUT, we believe that the vaccination of tourism workers from mid-April is a quality and timely measure that will be our strongest promotional message in this part of the tourist year. It is especially important that in addition to permanent employees, this vaccination program in tourism also applies to seasonal employees.
"The beginning of organized vaccination of tourist workers in this phase of preparation for the tourist season is an excellent measure, and we will do everything possible to encourage as many employees and seasonal workers as possible to be vaccinated. It is clear to everyone in the sector that the success of the tourist season is related to the epidemiological situation and the perception of Croatia as a safe destination, and timely and organized vaccination of tourism workers is one of the most important factors that will enable this.", said Veljko Ostojic, director of HUT.
In the context of further strengthening the perception of Croatia as a safe destination, HUT welcomes the initiative to expand the testing network for guests in tourist destinations with antigen tests, and through the formation of a significant number of additional testing points in tourist destinations.
Recall, HUT in late January conducted a survey among employees of domestic hotel companies about their interest in vaccination against Covid-19. The results of the survey showed a generally very high interest of employees. About 25.000 of them are interested in vaccination, which makes up about 70 percent of the total number of full-time employees in the provision of accommodation services.
