"Croatia had an excellent passing time in the first quarter, we are recording stable and double-digit traffic growth, which is a direct indicator of the strengthening of our overall offer in the pre-season, that is, the increasing recognition of Croatian destinations as year-round and attractive destinations. The periods before and after the season are the parts of the year in which Croatian tourism can make the most progress when we talk about sustainable and high-quality growth, and all our activities go in this direction as defined by the new Strategic Marketing and Operational Plan, which has the ultimate goal of positioning our country as an attractive and safe destinations in the niche between standard and premium. In other words, we are focused on groups of guests with different needs and travel motives, i.e. on tourists who are looking for interesting destinations and offers, escape and rest from everyday routines and authentic experiences., he said Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian Tourist Board.

When we segment Croatia's tourism result by counties, in the first quarter the most overnight stays were realized in Wife (772 thousand overnight stays), on Kvarner (534 thousand overnight stays) and in Split-Dalmatia County (333 thousand overnight stays), and in terms of destinations in Zagreb, Rovinj, Dubrovnik, Split, Opatija, Poreč te Zadar.

"The positive trends we are seeing in tourism, from physical to financial indicators, are the result of systematic work and all the activities we have undertaken in the last period in order to direct Croatian tourism towards year-round and sustainable development. The fact that for the second year in a row we have recorded record attendance in the pre-season is a confirmation that tourists already recognize us as a year-round destination, but also that our destinations offer more and more content and a richer offer in that period. I believe that with the further engagement of the entire sector and with the strong support of the Government, which the tourism sector has had in all segments from day one, these positive trends will continue, which make Croatia a desirable destination throughout the year, and a destination that listens to the wishes and needs of tourists. , but also the local population, because this is the only way we can continue to have successful tourism in the future" she pointed out Nikolina Brnjac, Minister of Tourism and Sports.
