According to the data of the Croatian National Bank (HNB) in the first nine months In 2024, the income of foreign tourists amounted to 13 billion and 188,7 million euros, which represents a growth of 1,7 percent compared to the same period in 2023, i.e. 224 million euros more.
Although total revenues are higher than in 2023, the data for third trimester In 2024, they say that the income of foreign tourists amounted to 9 billion and 58 million euros, which represents a decrease of 0,7 percent compared to the same period in 2023, i.e. the revenue was 64,3 million euros less.
"While in the first 6 months we achieved a record growth in income from foreign tourists, the data for the third quarter are slightly lower, which confirms what we always emphasize, which is that in that part of the year, except on the continent, we have extremely little room for growth , that we must rationally form the prices of all tourist services and that further uncontrolled growth of private accommodation is not an option, because the offer is growing rapidly, and we achieve the same or lesser results.
This is why we have implemented important reform processes this year, which we will continue with in the year ahead, because this is the only way we can maintain the success and competitiveness of our tourism in the long term. It is important to develop year-round tourism even more strongly, which is also our main goal, because thanks to excellent results and growth in the pre-season at the level of the first 9 months, we achieved record revenues, i.e. a total of 224 million euros more revenues, and we believe that this positive trend will continue in postseason", pointed out the Minister of Tourism and Sports Tonči Glavina.
