Director of the Zagreb County Tourist Board Ivana Alilović at the end of May, she participated in the organization's annual assembly NECSTouR, held in the city of Lulea in Sweden, where she was elected as a member of the Management Board of the prestigious tourist network of the same name.

Although this regional tourist board has only just become a member of this organization, Alilović was very successful in this important appointment.

General Assembly NECSTouR (Network of European Regions for Sustainable and Competitive Tourism) elected a new Board of Directors for the period 2024-2027, and Director Alilović was on the narrowest list of experts who competed for positions in the Board of Directors. The annual assembly of NECSTouR provides an opportunity for all member organizations to exchange ideas, network and introduce new members, one of which is the Zagreb County Tourist Board.

"This is an extraordinary opportunity to promote Zagreb County on the international level and to establish new partnerships and cooperation with other European regions. We are proud to have become part of such a strong network and look forward to contributing to the common goals of sustainable tourism development", she said director Alilović on the occasion of the new appointment and pointed out that we can certainly learn a lot from other European regions, but also that some of the destinations can learn from the example of Zagreb County.

Membership in NECSTouR brings numerous advantages, including access to a network of distinguished experts, participation in projects financed by the European Union and the possibility of participation in important international conferences and meetings.

This is just one more achievement for the Tourist Board of Zagreb County, which continues to work dedicatedly on promoting the region as an attractive tourist destination, with a special emphasis on sustainability and innovative tourism products in tourism. Joining this European network will further strengthen international contacts, but also increase the visibility of Zagreb County as a leading sustainable tourist destination in continental Croatia.

By the way, NECSTouR is a network of European regions that advocates for the promotion of sustainable and competitive tourism.

Founded in 2007, NECSTouR gathers more than 30 regions from different European countries, as well as academic institutions and experts from the tourism sector with the main goal - sustainable tourism. It currently has 49 permanent and 38 associate members, among whom is the Tourist Board of Zagreb County.
