The globally devastating economic effects of the pandemic have posed many questions and challenges to tourism stakeholders - how to choose, how to manage a destination, how to create innovative and effective solutions that will contribute to recovery and sustainable development, how to achieve a balance that supports sustainable growth and economic resilience. , while mitigating common challenges such as excessive tourism and environmental degradation.
In order to help public and private sector stakeholders in tourism in this adjustment, the Split-Dalmatia County Tourist Board and the Association of Croatian Travel Agencies (UHPA) have prepared a joint project to educate public and private sector stakeholders in tourism entitled "Innovative tourism in the times of the COVID-19 pandemic and after".
As part of the project that will take place during April in Split, they are planned four free one-day themed interactive workshops.
"We believe that these workshops, as well as a number of others that UHPA plans to organize this year in cooperation with partners, will contribute to the stakeholders of the tourism industry ready to respond to the challenges they face in everyday business practice. pandemics, earthquakes and war… " states from UHPA, adding that the cycle of these workshops is a continuation of many years of successful cooperation between the Tourist Board of Split-Dalmatia County and UHPA.
The workshop programs are intended for target groups that include employees in the system of tourist boards and local government and self-government in matters related to tourism development, tourism and DMK agencies, as well as all other tourism entities.
"Given the demanding tourist season ahead, in addition to the field of marketing where we are highly engaged, we decided to engage in the field of education. By the way, the Tourist Board of Split-Dalmatia County recently conducted a set of 15 trainings for private renters, which were also free, and will co-finance an additional 7-10 trainings conducted by tourist boards related to camping, cultural tourism and sustainable tourism. .
