Reservations of accommodation and plane tickets worth more than five million dollars are the best confirmation of the success of the joint promotional campaign behind the Croatian Tourist Board and Expedia, one of the most popular travel platforms on the American market.

The campaign was carried out from July 1 to mid-October this year, and included those destinations, tourist products and experiences for which the greatest interest was expressed among American travel enthusiasts.

"Expedia is our long-term partner, and the latest results of our joint campaign are a confirmation of excellent and very effective cooperation. This is also shown by the bookings in the value of more than five million dollars, which surpassed all previous results and even those from the record-breaking 2019. when the joint campaign stimulated bookings worth slightly more than three million dollars", he said Kristjan Staničić, director of the Croatian Tourist Board.

She is also satisfied with the achieved results Evelina Hederer, director of business development at Expedia Group Media Solutions. "Our joint campaign with the Croatian Tourist Board highlighted different Croatian regions and destinations, that is, it showed the diversity of beautiful landscapes, culture and much more. In this way, we very successfully inspired travelers to consider Croatia as a destination for their trip", said Hederer, adding that their research shows that tourists are increasingly looking for new experiences and new destinations.

"The results of the campaign, i.e. the reservations made, are also followed by indicators of tourist traffic. So far in the year in Croatia, 520 thousand arrivals and 1,6 million overnight stays have been achieved from the American market. Compared to last year, this represents an increase of 89 percent in arrivals and 69 percent in overnight stays, while compared to 2019, the above represents an excellent 91 percent of the results in overnight stays", she concluded Leila Krešić Jurić, director of the HTZ Representative Office in the USA, adding that Americans spent the most nights this year in Dubrovnik, Split, Zagreb, Hvar and Rovinj.
